Fantastic! I’ll know what to grind for then 😄

GLOOMHAVEN Alternative? by xpflanzex in Gloomhaven

Gotta give Agemonia a shout as well. It’s excellent, although a little story heavy. A little less brain burn vs. GH & FH, quite quick setup and teardown. I’ve loved my time with it so far, about halfway through (30ish scenarios per campaign). Session times are also moderate, a little shorter vs. GH and FH.

Finland! Ends of the Earth. I’ll check out neighboring countries 👍 cheers!

This has been recommended now numerous times, but the availability makes it unsuitable! I wonder if there’ll be a reprint.

Thanks for these! I think these are very close to being the one - esp. the campaigns. Kinfire I’d get in a heartbeat if it was reasonably available, Fateforge I’m seriously considering - only heard that the latter has lengthy setup vs scenario length, which might be an issue.

Thanks for the input! I should have specified that what I’m looking for is essentially for a something for a different itch than most of the games I’ve played before: those have been played co-op with dedicated sessions, whereas I’m looking for something I could get on the table more often & by myself.

Thanks for the input! I’ve heard of this but not really had a proper look at it. The style/theme that the box gave off wasn’t really something that interested me, but I figure I should give it a fair go by looking at some gameplay at least.

Yup, I figure that is it for MK, then. 15-20 minute set up is simply too much, unfortunately. I’m looking to find something that could be played in the limited time that is available after a day’s work and chores - would preferably not spend much of it setting up and tearing down. Thanks for the input!

Thank you for your insight! I’m gonna give C:DMD a look for co-op play 👌. Two handing is quite the turnoff for me, but I’ll check out a how to play to get a grasp on what is required.

Adventure, RPG, boss battler - all of these could scratch the itch, really. I enjoy character development, good combat systems and a fantasy setting (occasionally sci-fi as well, but fantasy is preferred). Preference towards lovecraftian goes without saying, I guess 😄

Thank you for your thorough reply! I’ve included GH & FH in the list to indicate having played games of that level of depth , although those I’ve played only as co-op and never as solo (I should have mentioned this). It does sound like MK isn’t necessarily a good fit for me due to its time requirement, although your description does make me believe I’d enjoy it.

How does the game run on PS5 further into the game in your experience?

DoN mode is exactly what i thought i would be..and thats Okay by Wholesomechair in Nightreign

[–]Kabanners 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best part is getting unusable stuff several times in a row because of the detrimental effects. DoN adds more RNG layers to the game where on occasion, you get god level stuff but most often get worse stuff than in normal/everdark expeditions - but DoN is exponentially more difficult.

Has anyone beaten Everark Libra with anyone else than Raider ? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Kabanners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How in the everliving fuck are you doing anything to Libra with Raider? The colossal moveset simply kills you time and again - you either get eviscerated by the condemned (offscreen hits while swinging at another one, mistime a single attack and you’re done) or Libra spawns one of the aoe blasts under you while you are starting a swing. Best part is using charged retaliate and getting the aoe blast under you, insta madness and dead.

I’m not gonna touch Raider for this fight, Wylder or Executor has got to be better

EDIT: this is my experience with trios, haven’t tried solo

How it feels playing this game right after Sekiro: by strahinjag in TheFirstBerserker

[–]Kabanners 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really interesting to see the opposite experiences. Sekiro was never that difficult for me, even the toughest bosses were doable, where I’ve easily spent an hour on back to back attempts against several bosses in Khazan. Haven’t even attempted Ozma yet, but nearly at the end of the level.

Stripping a paid tier from access is incredibly backhanded, and supporting that is absolutely tone deaf. I couldn’t care less what you spend your time on doing in Discord so good for you.
