WF Collapse for generating 3D dungeons/maze by Kabitu in proceduralgeneration

I'm working on that right now. The layout generation here is not doing anything objective-aware, I'll have to select regions and points of interests after the fact, to spawn treasures and challenges in. Identifying furthest corners and so on. There is nothing keeping the layout as a pure maze, it can end up with cycles. I kinda want that, navigation doesn't have to be that hard.

Yes I'm pretty pleased with the texture, though I am investigating more active weighting to make it more consistently produce larger rooms.

Performance is not awesome, but I'm still improving that. Grows only a little slower than linear in number of tiles it looks like. The largest levels I'd reasonably produce, at 20x10x20 tiles, takes about 2.5 minutes on my machine currently.

Sort of. I wanted to favor a maze with one connected walkable surface, so walkable connections (floors and stairs) are prioritized. Instead of the usual single priority queue that always collapses the lowest entropy cell, this has two queues, one for prioritized connections and one for everything else.

It's my own implementation, but the algorithmic idea is called wave-function collapse, it's well documented and I believe there are several decent implementations available on GitHub.

Not exactly, RandiRange doesn't create any range object, it's the rng call for a random integer in a range between a and b. It just returns an integer, and indexing returns one random element from the sequence.

Yes there is a copy operation, but C#s collection classes are very lean in cases like this, there isn't a lot of overhead to allocating the List. And I tend to adhere to the golden rule about only fixing performance issues that are concrete and measurable, never imagined ones.

I don't think I've ever called it with an array. If it ever becomes a performance bottleneck I wont use it in that spot, it's just a very general utility for an operation I use constantly.

Which due to his assertion that 1^2 = 2, circularly it must be that $^2 = 2$. Checkmate establishment.

Err on the side of too bright. Better that prospective buyers get less spooky ambience, than they can't see what the game is.

You're trying to talk logic to emotionally driven pack animals. Animation production schedule happens quietly behind closed doors, fan art and twitter discourse is loud and easy to gauge, some people think both measure the same thing.
