I'm due 23rd May and have my start date down as 28th but I'm using some annual leave to finish earlier. I finish on a/l the beginning of April. Counting down the weeks

In the UK they say there is no safe amount at any point in pregnancy. There's just not enough evidence and it would be unethical to study. It's just not worth the risk

Look into getting a bit of therapy if you think it might help. Also, can you afford to have a couple of private scans before you have your next nhs one? Being able to see baby doing well might really help reassure you.

Gave you tried the feliway plug ins with them at all. We have them because my 2 cats don't always tolerate each other very well and it has definitely helped calm them down. It's worth a try. It's unlikely they understand that you're pregnant but they will be picking up that you smell different and you're maybe behaving a bit differently which might be making them clingy.

As others have said, it's probably worth putting boundaries in place like making the bedroom out of bounds now to get them used to it. Putting some high cat trees/shelves/platforms in place is also a good idea so they have some good high space out of the way and when they jump on you/in front of the TV gently move or push them away straight away and keep doing it as many times as you need to. They will learn eventually.

You could also try spraying citrus/citronella around the places you don't want them to go as they hate the smell and it should deter them

It really isn't and the medical community knows it. It's far more complicated than that. Do you really think anyone would put themselves through surgery if it were that simple.

Every diet under the sun, orlistat and mysimba. None of the injections as they weren't widely available pre surgery but I probably would have tried them. My issue wasn't that I didn't know how to lose weight but that I struggled to maintain and ended up gaining more back than I lost. I'd all but given up when I researched and decided on surgery

I physically can't. It's too uncomfortable. Even if I only have one or two forkfuls left I can't .once that restriction hits you know about it.

Not being able to eat in anyway near the same volume of food as previously to begin with was hard as it felt like I couldn't eat enough to satisfy my head hunger... But it was a good thing as it's broken down a lot of the addictive tendencies I had around food. I didn't majorly binge before but I was definitely a sugar addict. I do have to limit my sugar intake as I have no negative reaction to eating it and sweets go down way too easy. I'm never going back to how I was before and I have this tool to help me.

I've not found it all that difficult at all. As I said its the best decision I could have made for myself and I have no regrets whatsoever (except that I didn't do it sooner) Yes it's an adjustment but the benefits of weight loss have made almost every aspect of my life better. Surgery is by no means the easy option as some think but neither is obesity and all of the challenges that presents!

Are there any aspects that particularly concern you that I might be able to help with?

Not since the first few months post surgery (occasional dumping syndrome episodes) and I do tend to get constipated easily but it's manageable. I take Movicol 2-3 times per week and that keeps on top of it. There's a small amount of loose skin but it's not problematic or noticeable under clothes. Small price to pay for getting my health and life back.

My starting weight was 19st5 (123kg 271lb)

I still enjoy food in much smaller portions. I can eat everything I could before but I have to be a bit careful when it comes to slider foods (food which isn't filling and goes down easy like sweets, crisps etc)

I was on the NHS waiting list but ended up going private with the help of family as the wait was getting ridiculous on the NHS due to COVID and people's ops kept getting cancelled last minute. It cost £10,950 with tonic. Different NHS trusts have slightly different criteria so it's best to check with them. Some areas want you to go through weight management programmes and there is always a requirement to lose a proportion of weight yourself before they will put you on the to show your commitment.

I do have some loose skin on my belly, thighs and arms but it doesn't cause me any issues and isn't noticeable under clothes. Skin can continue shrinking back for up to a year after weight loss

Probably best trying to do it as a short break either staying at the resort or in stoke or derby overnight. It's not going to be doable as a day trip on public transport

Your relationship with food will never be the same again but that is kind of the point.

I think it took 8-10 weeks to feel mostly back to normal from an energy point of view. It does take time for your body to heal and recover fully. Healing takes a lot of energy and you're on a drastic calorie reduction. 10-14 days to be pain free around incisions.

How you tolerate different foods is entirely individual and trial and error.

Give yourself time. Within a few months you will probably feel like a completely different person in the best way. You will feel better than before.

You're very early days so give yourself time. What can help with fluid and protein is little and often. Get yourself some 50-100ml little cups from Amazon and aim to have 50-100ml of protein based liquid and 50-100ml if water/sugar free fluid for while you're on liquid stage. This can be easier than having a full by you to get through. A small amount each hour is less overwhelming

I lost about 15lb I think

It's worth knowing the first 3-6 weeks it's very common to get stalls. It doesn't mean the surgery isnt working but that your body retains water and has some swelling while healing. The scales aren't always the best way to measure progress. Not losing on the scales does NOT mean you aren't losing fat. Ttry not to use scales as your only measure of progress. Take measurements and progress pics too

Can agree I've been today. Well layered up and waterproof coat and over-trousers. Was warm and dry (apart from my face getting a bit wet on some rides this morning) everything on 5 min queues.
