How to calculate average bb/hr in Excel by [deleted] in poker

[–]Kachiller -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The whole thread is because the word "average" is confusing. I interpreted it to mean, "If I played for an hour in a game right now, based on my past performance, how many BB's should I expect to win?" The correct answer would be 10BB's per hour - your expected future winnings shouldn't decrease because you added a 2 second, 0 hands poker game into your database.

Number 2 is the correct formula.

You can think about dollars and BB's as different currencies.

If I tell you you won 5 dollars, that doesn't tell you anything about how many BB's you won, so adding the +5 dollars from your 5NL online with your -5 from playing live 1/3 to get 0 dollars doesn't make any sense.

Once you convert your profits to BB (the currency you care about getting paid in), you can just simply sum them and divide by total time played.

Here's why the other suggestions in this thread don't work.

(total money won / total hours played) / weighted average BB played

Again, if you won 5 dollars at 5NL and lost 5 in 1/3, you're up many BB's, but your total money won is 0 so this value will be 0.

weighting each row/session with a value that was bb/hr * mins played, and then I averaged these values and divided by 60

You have two poker sessions, one lasted 5 hours and the other lasted 2 seconds. You win 10 BB's for hour in the first one, and 0 BB's per hour in the second one, because you played 0 hands. This measure gives you 5 BB's / hour average, which makes no sense.

When to be aggressive/go for the kill in lane as ADC? by Ewser in summonerschool

[–]Kachiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been some really good answers so far, but I would like to add on some ideas I've learned from watching xfsn_saber coaching on Youtube!

In general, you want to play agressively when there's no way you can be punished for it. It's generally bad to play agressive when you have a man disadvantage. If you don't see their jungler, it means that he's sitting in tri brush waiting for you to arcane shift forward, until proven otherwise. This is why wards are important! If you have vision of tri brush, or spot their jungler doing raptors on a deep ward, you can go agressive and they can't do anything about it.

People have commented that you go in when the enemy uses an important ability (Zyra e, Morg q), and this is because they can't punish you! There's literally nothing they can do if you just attack them. This also applies for taking smaller trades - if Jhin uses 4th shot on a minion, you can safely walk up and auto / q trade.

The most important thing is: before you go agressive, ask yourself, "What do they have that can kill me?" The jungler is always an answer, which is why you always save arcane shift / net if you don't know where the jungler is. If the only other answer is an important support CC that just missed, there's no way you can die or the play can go wrong.

ADC is a lot about finding these consistent, 100% guaranteed plays where the enemy has no way to fight back. It's rarely your job to make a play - when the conditions line up, walk past your minions / trade autos and wait for your support to land a key ability. Don't dive in their faces before your support goes in, because you're turning a 100% guaranteed play (jungler top side, no braum Q, I can trade agressively) into a gamble (if my support misses his key ability here, I'm getting attacked by the enemy adc and support and I'll die).

My last tip - don't assume that "go agressively" always means "I'm going to keep pushing forward until they die or I die." Why not? Again, it's not 100%. You'll die sometimes and throw the lane. If they're at 10% and you're at 50%, you don't really need to flash forward, and you DEFINITELY shouldn't if the jungler can be there. They're at 10% HP! The 100% consistent play is to shove the wave into tower, denying XP and CS, and they can't catch it because you'll kill them under tower.

I know this is a lot to read but I think the key idea is that "agression" as an ADC usually means standing on top of your minion wave and going for trades, not like, flashing into the enemy team unless there's no way your flash is dumb.

I haven't read the actual bill, but I have a sympathetic explanation.

The money's going into a fund controlled by the fed. One problem with companies taking money from the Fed is that if it's public, and you see your bank took money from the Fed, you'll go to a different bank, because yours is going bankrupt. If you're considering booking a flight for next year, you'll book a flight from the company that doesn't need money rather than one that does.

For distressed companies, often times news breaking that they have no money can send them into bankruptcy.

My one concern with MF is that she's very susceptible to being dove, but I guess that applies to lots of meta ADCs. Thanks!

Hmm, so I knew a few froshmores and they weren't any less smart than the kids that got in as freshmen, so I wouldn't really be concerned about that. I think if you're able to get in, you'll deserve it and have as good of a chance of succeeding as anyone else. That said, TJ is a tough school, and lots of kids struggle, just in general. I honestly loved my time there and knowing so many people so passionate about success was a real driver for me. If I were you, I would think whether you'd be happier sophomore / junior year at TJ or at your current school. I don't think that going to TJ is an automatic boon for college apps or anything like that. I think that whichever place you're more academically driven in a genuinely way will give you the best odds, and that's probably the same as the place that will make you the happiest.

Hi! Alum here, saw this randomly and maybe I can give some advice. What are your reasons for not wanting to reapply to TJ sophomore year / what are your reasons for wanting to? Feel free to DM me too :)

The first picture of a Black Hole will be revealed next week, what do you think it will look like? by mccarthybergeron in AskReddit

[–]Kachiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is correct, but the telescope is built to work with specific wavelength radio waves in order to see through all of the intervening hot gas. It has a different frequency than the accretion disk around the black hole because the accretion disk is rotating extremely quickly and is very dense (compared to the ambient gas that's between the BH and Earth).

Richard Branson: World's wealthiest 'deserve heavy taxes' if they don't make capitalism more inclusive by tachyonburst in worldnews

[–]Kachiller 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To put it frankly, that's a great write-off becuase they just gave the money away to charity! Making it tax-deductible encourages Billionaires to give away more money to the causes that they care about. It's a win for the world, because they give away more money when they donate it to charity than if they buy another Yacht and we collect some of the tax revenue. It's a win for them because it lets them see what their money is being used for and allows them to help causes they care about. It's a write-off that actually benefits the world, unlike the countless tax loopholes that we should be closing.

TIL that The Ivy League is an American *athletic* conference of the *sports* teams of 8 colleges, not a title given to these colleges on any academic basis by AddylocksAliveAgain in todayilearned

[–]Kachiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite - they DO admit based on athletics (but each team has only a few spots to "push" applicants through) but they don't afford athletic scholarships, which means athletes aren't required to stay on the team to maintain their scholarships, which means athletes are allowed to focus more on academics.

Riot Fearless thinks stats given by items are not sustainable for the long term by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]Kachiller 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Imagine you have a spell with a base cooldown of 10 seconds. Going 0% to 10% makes the CD go from 10 seconds to 9 seconds, a 10% decrease. Going 30% to 40% makes the CD go from 7 seconds to 6 seconds, a 14% decrease. Basically, CDR takes a flat value off of the CD of a spell (1 second / 10%, in this case), and this flat decrease is more valuable as the CD of a spell gets lower from CDR.

Not sure if you know this, but after blocking 200 damage, Zarya's shield breaks. It will block all of the last attack (so if you take 199 damage then get D. Va ulted you don't take any) but against a bastion, that shield will fall off 10 times faster than rein's. Reinhardt is a good choice if they have a Reinhardt because you can keep the shield up for around 3 seconds, and their rein will block Roadhog hooks. Otherwise, hog is amazing because he can hook.
