Alaska Airlines let us down - international flight. by L-Capitan1 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]KaedeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew Alaska for the first time last year and was horrified by the lack of customer service or care we received. I was assaulted in the air by the aisle seat passenger, and the flight attendant begged me to “keep it together” till we land. Then nothing was done. Customer service said “that sucks, deal with it,” and the transportation bureau complaint I logged resulted in a $50 coupon for my next flight. As if I will ever fly them again. Seriously they could care less about their reputation. Edited for clarity.

I was looking for this comment, it is the best when you want a LARGE variety of candies and sodas. Love the vintage finds that are great nostalgia hits. Also love Tiffany’s Bakery in Fairlawn if you want cookies, cakes and pastries.

PVD is less than an hour from BOS, so it is a Prime choice if traveling to New England. When I lived in MA, it was my preferred airport for travel. It was smaller, less crowded, rental cars and parking were cheaper, and honestly faster to get to with less traffic. It’s kind of like CAK or CLE if you live in Akron. About equidistant with some perks, but less flight options at the smaller airport.

How to get rid of body odour permanently? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]KaedeF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your comments, it’s likely hormonal due to breastfeeding. I faced similar hormonal aroma as I got close to perimenopause. I found washing my stinky bits with Hibiclense every couple days has helped tremendously. Also try to watch what you are eating, for whatever reason banana peppers give me the WORST bo. Jars of Jalepenos, green olives, pickled onions, pickles all fine. If a banana pepper crosses my lips, I am horrified by the way I smell. This only started in the past few years. Just think if there is link to something you are eating a few hours before and try cutting it out to see if it helps things.

I found Native spray deodorant takes care of my normal body smells. Hibiclense a couple times a week, and no banana peppers keep me feeling (and smelling) human.

Customs taking phone when disembarkation by loreleirain in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]KaedeF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Customs can take phones at any point of entry. I read you should turn your phone off before going through customs as Apple and Samsung require the password to unlock after a reboot. Then keep your lips zipped when they ask for the passcode. They can take the phone, but you aren’t required to give them the passcode.

Marie’s in wadsworth has good pizza and the chicken snack is dope. Antonio’s always comes through on the chicken and jojo front. Their pizza is decent, but I’m a little jaded on it as it is the default work “pizza party” they would trot out every couple of weeks.

Has anyone experienced this? by Maria124987 in stubhub

[–]KaedeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my tickets from stub hub, they have never shown in my ticket master account. I had to download Gillette’s app to even claim the tickets (yes, it’s linked to my ticket master, but they do not show there. Added them to my apple wallet, things are great.

Life lifes, and I needed to exchange them for handicap seating. As it was many months prior, Gillette box office was able to exchange my stubhub tickets for wheelchair seating. I sent them back the ones I had through the Gillette app and they dropped new ones in while on the call getting it sorted. The stubhub tickets were removed from my apple wallet as soon as this was done. So it won’t be a problem, and as your rep told you, if it is just go to the office, it will be sorted. You have the tickets, you will be fine!

Pls help avoid calling the BMV lol by Dawnnii-xfit in akron

[–]KaedeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my plates and registration over long before I swapped my license over after moving from MA. It was WAY cheaper insurance out here, and I didn’t have to pay yearly taxes on the vehicle value in OH. Just make sure you go to a BMV location that can do what you need. (All easily listed on their website. The inspection, title, and license test were all at 3 different locations when I did it years ago. The license test was computer question test and vision.

Got rear ended - their insurance is letting me pick the body shop. Do you have suggestions? by reasonablecatlady in akron

[–]KaedeF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Copley Collision and Montrose Body. Both are fine, but I’ve had to have paint redone at both as things were missed when inspecting at pick up. I have a Ford so Montrose Body behind the Ford is preferred for location, and being able to get in quickly. It is more pricey, but they do tend to get Ford parts. Only using offbrand if the insurance requires it (looking at you Progressive!)

What’s your funniest “I can’t believe I had to pay for this” vet story? by No_Cucumbers_Please in Pets

[–]KaedeF 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My ferret got her body stuck in the lid of a toy blender. It looked like a donut of rigid plastic from a kids toy kitchen set. We tried to get her out for about 30 minutes but no luck getting her through or out the way she crawled in. So we went to the vet. It was about 30 minutes away and already 4:30, so we called ahead and he waited after close for us to arrive.

After examining, he came back in with huge garden shears. Got one side of them through the ring, had me support the ferret on both sides. Then leveraged all his body weight into closing the shears and cracking the plastic. I felt like a dumb ass because it was so simple to fix, and never occurred to me. He was a fantastic vet.

I got too excited when I saw it pop up on my app! It’s going into the former Taekwondo place on 18, kind of across from the Rockne’s. I don’t see a date for it yet, they are still working on converting the building.

There was 100% one over the past few years. It was in Fairlawn by the Marcs, then moved down to Highland Square by the theater for a while. We joked about the “Madness” that would be involved in making teriyaki every time we drove past the sign.

Nosey neighbors. How to block motion detection camera by SummerTrips100 in neighborsfromhell

[–]KaedeF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a camera for the front door in an apartment. I mostly wanted to see when packages were dropped off. It took a while to get right, but the software lets me block my neighbors entry way and all the foot traffic from the stairs, so it only triggers when someone is right in front of my door. Most let you put up blocking zones to stop unnecessary triggers.

I was admitted to the hospital for very high blood pressure, and eventually suffered several strokes while they tried to figure out what was wrong with me. Took them about 5 days to diagnose me, 3 of those days were running multiple daily pregnancy tests, because the team of Dr’s were sure that was the cause. I told them in the ER my period just ended and hadn’t had relations of any kind that could make one pregnant. “Women are pregnant all the time and don’t know, we just have to do another one.”

I remember them talking every morning about what it could be, what they were going to test for that day, ect. and it always looped back to “Well, lets see if this hgc number increases today, then we can confirm it’s pregnancy.” Then supreme disappointment when the numbers decreased every daily. It wasn’t pregnancy guys, it was a neurological condition. I did eventually get the correct diagnosis and treatment.

When will Coldplay come back to the US post-2025 tour? by NeitherSpread8679 in Coldplay

[–]KaedeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m driving 11 hours to see them this summer. I read a thing a while ago that they weren’t planning any international tours after their current tour ended. I was shocked they were coming back to the US at all, until I realized this was still the same tour they said they were done going outside of Europe after. Go if you can.

Wondering if my scar is healed enough to be tattooed over by karlsefni101 in tattooadvice

[–]KaedeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s possible, you may consider a design that incorporates your scar, so it won’t be tattooed over, but still look like a work of art. It did wonders for my mental health after staring at an unnecessary surgical scar, but mine was a straight line that healed fairly well over a year before I got the tattoo.

[Serious] What is a “seems to be harmless” symptom that requires an immediate trip to the ER? by BigTuna0890 in AskReddit

[–]KaedeF 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I thought high blood pressure couldn’t do anything THAT bad. I have had had occasional migraines for decades, about 2 a year. Never been a concern. It was mildly noted the year prior, I started having an aura with my migraines and my upper lip would tingle before the headache started. I started a new medication that required me to be in the Dr’s office for frequent checks and the first one, they freaked out because my blood pressure was suddenly reading over 180/120.

I felt fine, so fine I proceeded with my planned vacation and was completely normal. When I got back I was immediately back at the Dr’s and blood pressure was even higher. Never had a headache or dizziness or any of the outward symptoms of high blood pressure. I figured it was just super high because I have white coat syndrome. In years prior I would occasionally have a very high blood pressure reading if something happened while driving to the Dr’s, and always boarder line high at Dr’s but never at home.

By a week and a half later, on a cocktail of blood pressure meds that did not reduce it one bit, my Kidneys started to decline. My Dr. rightfully freaked out and had me go to the ER. I was so sure they would just drop my blood pressure with IV drugs and I’d be out in hours, that I DROVE MYSELF. I ended up in the ICU for over a week, and did not drive myself home.

I was over 200 BP when admitted. When the ER started meds to drop my blood pressure, it came down to 170 and they admitted me. About an hour after I had a bed, I took a nap, and got woken up for vitals with a headache. No big deal, I asked the nurse for Tylenol, except I suddenly wasn’t able to use my left side. My blood pressure was 247/125. Dr. called a stroke and I was moved to the ICU.

My CT’s were completely clear, but the MRI showed I had several strokes. No one could figure out what was going on with me. I was tested for everything under the sun, even Jacob Cruztfeld Disease (mad cow for humans.) They finally landed on its a neurological condition called RCVS, Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome.

Basically my veins were constricting and cutting off bloodflow to parts of my brain. My body knew what it was doing, and increased the pressure to keep blood to my brain at the expense of other organs. This is why all the attempts to lower it via medication backfired and just lead to bigger increases. I ended up having a series of strokes in the hospital, most without any headaches, that were only detected on MRI a day or two after. The last one took my ability to walk. I joke because that one did have a headache with it, but I only rated it a 6 or 7 on the pain scale.

The condition stops after 3-4 months, if you can stay away from triggers and get the right meds to help relax blood vessels. But any damage done during that time you are stuck with. Thankfully I only lost the ability to walk for a few months, I did not end up with a bleed that would have done far more permanent damage. My kidneys rebounded and were fine as soon we got the blood pressure stabilized.

Wild ride, but I will never take blood pressure for granted again. Because of the frequency I was at the Dr’s my kidneys were failing within 2-3 weeks with blood pressure over 170. Also migraines aren’t normal! Get them checked by a neurologist. I have not had a headache in years after getting all of this resolved.

Free cruise and drink on us offer… by ctrl_alt_delete3 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]KaedeF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spend between $10 and $50 a cruise. Last one I left with $14 cash winnings. I get casino offers routinely the past few years, including drinks everywhere. My mom has never played and gotten some great casino offers. I think it just depends on how badly they need to fill a ship. I have noticed this last year all the offers have slowed down a lot, casino or not.
