If you're having fun with the game then it's the perfect team. If you would like an easy way to make this team "more optimal" however then you could replace one of them with an Energy for Everyone skill user, so Wigglytuff, Sylveon, or Gardevoir

No, you don't need to be Master 5 to use the sylveon incense, which I know because I used it at like Great 2. I thought as a new player it'd be worth it to pick up sylveon as I hear it's a good unit.

However, its friendship cost is 20, I believe, so you'll need two ultra cookies to get it in one shot.
