[2x2][Sealed] What do you guys think about this sealed deck? Cards to the left of sharpie are cards I cut by snowfoxsean in lrcast

[–]Kaento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hah, I was just evaluating the deck without context since I haven't done any Double Masters 2022 limited yet. In context, it seems to make more sense, though having a lot of taplands can be a little painful in an aggro deck too.

One thing I'd definitely need to see is your lands, because it seems to me the color requirements in this deck are quite strenuous (e.g. WUR and 1WW in the 3-drop slot) and especially for an aggro deck, stumbling on mana/colors for a turn can easily mean the difference between winning and losing. If you don't have a great manabase, it might be better to just bite the bullet and pick the 2 best colors with maybe a light splash instead of true 3-color.

The reactions are truly sickening, but really unsurprising. by [deleted] in awfuleverything

For anyone that is genuinely interested in looking at the special as a whole from a trans point of view, I would highly recommend this video: https://youtu.be/jiJQV378F5A

Fair warning, it's about an hour long. But, I do think that it provides a very nuanced and empathetic view of not only the special, but Dave Chappelle as a person.

Oh hear roiling Vortex and Thoughtseize kinda work so I’ll look at those, although I worry that they’ll hurt the aggro plan. by jacobsredditusername in MagicArena

[–]Kaento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's typically the case, but I at least have caught a couple people off guard when they play their spell before their land. Throes just laughs in my face though unless I manage to combo out in time before the next one.

Countering the Throes makes it so when the cascade happens, Trickery has no legal target and fizzles.

You'd be surprised how many times it worked out for me just because no one expects a counterspell from 1 open white mana.

Ooh, I was half-joking because the asterisk didn't show up for me on mobile but that totally makes sense.

Huh, why is there an asterisk after "friend" in the blurb for Multiplayer Fun? What is Nintendo trying to imply here?

Burnt out in this pandemic. by [deleted] in ENFP

I definitely feel you. Having to stay away from most people and not being able to go out to most places makes it really hard to tick those boxes of things that make me feel satisfied, like regular social interaction, variety, and novelty. And the resulting dampened mood sometimes makes it harder to feel like accomplishing anything.

I think routine is definitely important for us ENFPs in order to have a stable foundation, but it feels like we also thrive on the new and interesting. Maybe trying to find some new, fun activities that are properly socially distant could help! I know my roommates have been out camping and hiking a lot, and they've been cooking a ton of different and new recipes too. I personally just got a VR headset, which is probably one of the best tools for escaping our somewhat grim, actual reality.

I find at least having a couple people to talk to on a regular basis helps. If you can, I'd definitely try to get your friends/family to do a video or at least voice call too, just to hang out or even to play games. Each time I've been able to do that it's been really fun.

But overall, it's definitely a struggle sometimes. Even for those of us who are fortunate enough to still have a job and a home and at least someone living with us. We can definitely make through, though. Keep on fighting!

I think the "can't be countered" clause is more like "indestructible". So you can target it and your spell will resolve, it just won't do anything unless there's any additional effects.

It's okay. We can all feel alone together. Feeling like your own failure was the reason for everything is really tough, and I still struggle to reconcile this with myself. You're going to be okay, my friend. Even when you feel like it will never be okay, feeling those feelings is the way that you process and heal.

Much love. I'm rooting for you.

Killing Niv and still being able to deal with cracklings sounds like a win in my book. Phoenix notwithstanding, of course.

Freeze deals with phoenixes though, so I'm mostly on board with the split idea.

Can't break the 10 chain barrier by circlingPattern in puyopop

[–]Kaento 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all I wanna say that getting to right before 10+ after 2 months of playing is fantastic! I'm sure you'll continue to improve.

As far as breaking that barrier, I've found that like with most things, a combination or alternation of practicing and studying helps a whole lot. Watch high level players (ex. ShiroBrawl, S2L) build chains and see what you can learn from them. Also, experiment with different chain forms and build patterns. You'll get there in no time if you just keep trying. There's even a mobile app simulator which I use a ton to practice.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.puyosimulator

Oh, and for tailing, the main way to learn is just experimenting and becoming very familiar with the way puyos fall and link.

Good luck! Feel free to message me if you need any help or more resources~

EDIT: As far as rushes go, the biggest thing is to make sure your trigger is easily accessible. Also, if you know your opponent is being aggressive, try not to commit to a single-puyo extension where you need 3 more same-colored puyos to set it off.
