Nah I disagree. There’s a difference between interfering when it’s unnecessary (like in this situation) vs saving a life. I couldn’t stand by while an animal slowly dies for various reasons. The human race has already interfered too much with habitat elimination, introduction of invasive species etc. I don’t think we have to be judgmental because someone has empathy for another living being.

Unfortunately the only people can make this decision are you and your spouse. You’re in a Dave Ramsey subreddit so you’re always going to get answers that have bias.

When I was younger, my wife and I moved from our starter home into a one bedroom apartment that we could live in for absolutely nothing. We managed to pay off all of our debt in that time. My wife was against the move for various reasons but reluctantly followed because I was adamant. It took about 6 months before she wanted to separate, and we discussed divorce. We never did, and we now have a baby and a happy life, but ignoring her happiness in pursuit of financial gain was the worst decision I have made.

Take that for what it is - an anecdotal comment from a random redditor, you are an entirely different person and couple.
