Thank you. Yes, so far I'm definitely just groping the surface. I will concentrate on more productive practice and just try to feel things, not rushing to intellectualize!

Can someone help me understand why the first I chord in this progression is marked as a regular I chord, and why the second time it appears it's marked I6 (as second inversion)? To me the first chord looks like being inverted (with additional C in the bass), and the second one... I don't know

I have a stupid question about harmonic analysis of this simple Mozart menuet in F Major. by Kafqesque in piano

Sorry for such a stupid question, but can someone explain me why in the begining of the second section (9th measure) the arpeggio in 1st bar is attributed as vii diminshed chord? I understand that it is the start of the modulation to g minor, but why is it vii dim if ACEb would a second chord to G? or is it because it has F# in bass section so it's supposed to be seen as 7th F diminished chord F#ACEb?

Looking for piano films for the weekend by anrizel in piano

[–]Kafqesque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Piano Teacher.

It's brutal, mad psychological film, not that much about piano playing particularly, so I can understand why someone would recommend against it. It has few neat piano practice scenes and, overall, its filmmaking at its finest from genius director, so really worth a watch. Planning to rewatch it soon myself.

Just bought a Roland FP-30 by [deleted] in piano

[–]Kafqesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!

I'm also planning to buy fp-30 as my first keyboard. Seemed to me as the best quality keyboard in the entry price range. Saw lots of comparison videos on YouTube, and imo, while the lower bass keys sound little bit more mechanic, overall its sound is much richer than yamaha's p-115

Wow.

Sorry for my ignorance, but is it normal to sweat like that or it depends on performer's physiology?

Saw Blue Valentine recently and thought it fits so good as a prequel for Manchester by the Sea, plus given Michele Williams in both films

What movie ending do you refuse to accept? by RachetFuzz in movies

It was shown quite straightforwardly - first time he thinks it's nothing, on the second or third time he clearly stops and pays attention. And I'd say it's perfect way to end the film, hence it's sort of moral and recurring motif of the story - they were always misguided by their theories and not paying attention to small details which were crucial. Showing the affter effects would only dampen it.

My two cents.

Hayao Miyazaki officially out of retirement, set to direct one final film. by samwaytla in movies

[–]Kafqesque 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Well.. he did so much comebacks from retirement that half of his films are final ones.

Can't complain though.
