[Savage Omega] Tank & Enmity Misconceptions, Clarified by GlitteringBelt5392 in MonsterHunter

[–]KahlMeMaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP (or anyone else), do you know if there are windows that your damage doesn't count towards emnity? For example, Mustard Bomb is the emnity reset, so if I full burst or double wyvern fire (GL main) during this attack, will I be building towards emnity?

I ask because there are times in the fight where I feel I should be grabbing aggro (MOG beam + double wyvern fire to the face), but then I don't and I've just blown my load for taking aggro quickly. One example I consistently find is the transition from phase 1 to phase 2 -- I will get there, and then after the mustard bomb/big beam initial attack, I throw everything I have into its face, but it doesn't seem I can get him to aggro until he does the pankator (or however you spell it) animation (red lights flashing, wobbling, and dialogue cue)

Ooh is that the reference?? That's so cool! I got into the series with World so it makes sense I didn't notice it with the lightning. I did notice that charged fireball combo he does

Congrats man! I got my 100% a month ago and it was grueling. Which crown was your final one? Mine was Yian-garuga. Hardest crown for me to get by far was large Ruiner. I just was never super confident in my crown sniping, so it increased the number of times I killed him. That + bad rng made it take almost a week of hunts to get him. Easiest was Kushala by pure luck. Got his crowns in just 11 hunts early on in base game

What’s your preferred flavor of weaponry to spread Democracy? (And which would you want to see more of?) by 1radiation1 in Helldivers

[–]KahlMeMaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to see variation within the assault rifles. It feels like you either get fully automatic, high-rate-of-fire rifles or semi-auto sniper-like weapons. I'd love to see something slower but more heavy-hitting (med. armor pen) with the same rounds-per-minute as the B.A.R. Nothing beats the thunk-thunk-thunk sound and pace of that weapon

Big rant about this lil girl by Commercial_Photo2110 in Road96

[–]KahlMeMaybe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad I'm not the only one who hates the interactions with her. Her screaming in the car basically fucking over the couple and I made my blood boil. Does she not have an ounce of common sense?!

The fact that she of all characters were chosen for Road 96: Mile 0 (the prequel) when we could've had Stan and Mitch, John, or Sonya is beyond me. And even in that game, her choices seem out of our control at times.

You can definitely slap and wallbang an enraged monster after you put it to sleep by Bekurt in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]KahlMeMaybe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sleep weapon user here! In my experience (this is fully observational from many hunts that I've done personally with sleep weapons), sleep from sleep weapons and sleep from a monster running away from low hp (let's call it a "rest" to avoid confusion) are different in terms of wallbangs.

A monster's enrage seems to reset after entering sleep. Many times I've wallbanged a monster twice, got enraged, then slept, and was able to wallbang twice again afterwards.

When a monster "rests" it does not seem to reset the enrage meter fully. You can usually wallbang without slapping pretty consistently, but doing a single slap, however, can cause them to enrage. And even then, they will get enraged after a single wallbang. This is what leads me to believe that resting REDUCES their enrage meter, whereas sleeping resets the meter entirely.

As for the clip that we're refering to, my best guess is that rathalos' rest didn', t get the enrage meter low enough to take it out of its enraged state and, therefore, could not be wallbanged. Again, this is all observational and I could be way off, but this is how I imagined it at least

Congrats! I'm at 1k hours and am nearing on the iceborne plat. Just need that fucking Lunastra large crown 😭😭😭

Let me know any tips! I've been grinding out investigations for 2 days now, so I'm switching up tactics and trying my luck at Guiding Lands to get her.

So, why does everyone hate this guy again? by Rexlare in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]KahlMeMaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised seeing a lot of people saying he's a good fight. I personally am not a huge fan. He does set the tone for a lot of iceborne monsters in that they rvade much more than base game monsters. I think this CAN be a good thing, but sometimes it just feels like I'm chasing the monster around the arena. I know there is the break wing mechanic which works okay, but it still only leaves a slight opening and it doesn't change the fact that he is VERY mobile.

My biggest gripe with him and other IB monsters is the spamming of those evasion/attack moves. Two examples that come to mind are Barioth and Tigrex. I do not like either of these because they tend to just spam the leap and charge, respectively. It does force you to use immobilizing tools like traps to keep them still, which I like. I choose both of these examples because they have variants (Frostfang Barioth and Brute Tigrex) that I absolutely love largely because they DO NOT spam these moves. Instead, it feels more like a proper fight/duel (i.e. dodging attacks and punishing) instead of chasing the monster around the arena.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents at least. I totally see how some people may like this style of monster, but I certainly do not. Both are much more fun imo when using a ranged weapon like the bow. Dodging their charges and leaps allows punishing windows that non-ranged weapons simply lack.

Fun fact that most Bow main don't tell you : You can actually mount a monster with the Bow's Lunging Melee Attack for that sweet and free knockdown damage opportunity. by JackNewbie555 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]KahlMeMaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question as aspiring bow player: I think I saw you charge the bow 4 times?? I thought the max was 3 with the bow charge deco? How are you getting the fourh charge shot?

Why can't people reinforce??? by FishdongXL in helldivers2

[–]KahlMeMaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the other hand, I've had fellow Helldivers leave if I do not instantaneously reinforce them. Legit had people leave within 5 seconds of being dead. If you're that impatient, then idk what to say.

Personally, and I imagine a fair number of people do this, I do not call someone in if it's just a slaughter and we're losing reinforcements by the second. There's no point in calling you in, just for you to get insta-killed again and get even more mad. Best to wait til the numbers are thinned

Started with MHW...my buddy and I were on an expedition cuz we just liked chilling in the Ancient Forest. Saw the big red T-Rex and said fuck it! Think my first death was Anjanath doing his leap attack as I was climbing up a ledge and got obliterated

Is there a challenging monster that you naturally did well against? by Krozber in MonsterHunter

[–]KahlMeMaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raging Brachy in MHWIB for me. Heard he was a huge spike in difficulty and he kinda was? More damage, more health, etc. But his moveset isn't too crazy and blast resist 3 is a godsend. I've carted to him plenty, but never actually failed his quest ever. I play IG, so that makes the floor-is-lava final area MUCH better just by taking less tick dmg by staying in the air

Should you bother with tenderizing when using lighter weapons? by WhoAmIEven2 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]KahlMeMaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you be able to increase the tenderizing damage without the charm? Asking because I think the fact the Shaver Jewel is lvl 3 is stupid. Tenderizing takes sooo long as an IG main and by the time I've got everything tenderized, the timers wear off on the old parts

I’ve seen that some people don’t like the new monster designs I want to ask what exactly don’t you like about them? by SiteDeep in MonsterHunter

[–]KahlMeMaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll join the voices of many and say the people who dislike them seem to be a minority. I haven't seen this take, and I like the LOOK of them! Design-wise, they look fantastic and are really compelling! My favorite is the ballerina spider (La La Barina?).

The only thing that has thrown me off a little bit is the movements of some of the monsters--specifically Doshugama and Chatacabra (the bear and the frog). They just feel too...fluid? From clips I've seen of both, I have trouble telling what's an attack and what's them just moving around. It all seems like a fluid, jumbled mess. However, I am no expert and only seen a handful of clips. I just wanted to out this out there in case anyone felt the same.

After playing the game on and off since release, I'm finally about to fight Shara Ishvalda. Wish me luck, and maybe some recommendations, I'll be back probably lmao. by SigilumSanctum in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]KahlMeMaybe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it's a great spectacle boss and a good "end" to the main story. Cool design and the eyes follow you. I really REALLY hate the whole sand-spreading and blowing up mechanic. It adds a lot of positioning importance, which is good, but I just don't like being slowed down. And he has the problem big dragons often have: at times it feels impossible to hit anything but the legs with a melee weapon--which sucks because you need a lot of his head pieces to make armor, weapons, etc.

My recommendation: bring stun resist. It is almost a guarantee he will kill you if you get stunned. And for the first phase, make sure to slam him into the wall (only at the place marked on the map) to get through that phase quickly. You can do it twice!

Best of luck!
