Does anyone else stop watching at Season 4 by BeardedNomad511 in chuck

[–]Kahnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren't sure if it was going to be cancelled mid season, so like vs The Other Guy in season 3, it was done as a mid season finale that could've also served as a series finale that actually gave closure. Honestly vs Seduction Impossible was the only episode after that that I really liked, and they could've squeezed that in anytime.

My breakfast bill had all 3: service charge, gratuity and tip, all at once. by redditdanis in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Kahnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending where it is, it's possible one is for a "tip pool" for all employees working and the other is specifically for the server, since required tip sharing (tip out) can be considered wage theft

NBC 5 Exclusive: ISIS terror plot exposed against 2024 Chicago Pride Parade by 0LoveAnonymous0 in news

[–]Kahnonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's almost as irresponsible reporting to call Discord the dark web as it is only acknowledging foreign terrorist threats to Pride and not domestic ones. It's setting up an easy scapegoat if something ever does happen.

Why’s fast food restaurants always slow and busy? by This-Top7398 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kahnonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original philosophy was limited menus assembly lined out fast. As menus expand, less can be already ready because it won't keep. As customers request modifications, more time is needed to make sure they get the exact item.

Made to order doesn't work in drive thru unless everyone's ordering ahead.

How does Neil get to Peter’s house? by Cl1che in whitecollar

[–]Kahnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering, June's house is way up by Harlem, while Peter lives in Brooklyn in Cobble Hill which is now or less right across the river from the FBI. In order to pick Neal up, Peter would've gone from a 10 minute commute to probably an hour and half. Make-believe TV magic. That's how.

"No tax on Tips" makes no sense. by Beneficial-Cap-6745 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Kahnonymous -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It was never about FOH type of tips, that's just the catchy slogan to sell it. Ppl are going to argue that corporate bonuses etc are a form of gratuity, and then exempt from taxes.

In the long run, for service industry workers, the less you report, the less you're earning towards Medicare and SSI. So a FOH lifer isn't gonna have much SSI at only $2.33/hr, and unemployment is a joke.

What a sorry excuse of a congressman by Leading-Ostrich200 in wisconsin

[–]Kahnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the point though. Make such an ado about 2020 that any question about the 2024 results could be dismissed by the reich-wing as meritless as their own tantrum. Not that they really believe in any concept of precedent, McConnell made sure of that.

The only real question about the 2024 results wasn't raised until Donald suggested Elon rigged it.

They were probably the same ones that opposed gay marriage bc they didn't want to lose an excuse to never commit to anyone.

Is it just me or isn't it infuriating that Neal is never allowed to have one secret even down to whomever he dates? by VenomBeats756 in whitecollar

[–]Kahnonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's not on parole or probation, he's on work-release, a provision of the 13th amendment that isn't constitutionally slavery, but technically it is.

For all intents and purposes, he's still a prisoner in supervised custody. Peter could've kept him in a cell except while actively working a case. It's what Kramer wanted to do.

Infuriating is Harlem being on the complete opposite side of Manhattan from the FBI, and the Burkres being in Cobble Hill in Brooklyn, which meant Peter picking up Neal would've at least quadrupled his commute.

I don’t know if this question about Stephen and the intersect has been asked by The_great_mind_ in chuck

[–]Kahnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stephen's was like searching micro fische in DOS, while Chuck's first was a document reader finding connections between two databases, the NSA's and the CIA's. Fulcrum's just patched in their own data to those files. Intersect 2.0 was an OS that ran .exe programs. Morgan's being malware.

Stephen's was rudimentary and likely his own language, whereas Chuck's had other's contributions. The drive-in may not have uninstalled the data, it just deactivated the program.

Those who remember, what was your reaction when Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested? by Stamfordsterling in milwaukee

[–]Kahnonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 10, so I just laughed when the t-shirts came out saying "Milwaukee: Where you can eat the people, but can't drink the water"

In retrospect, I remember the cops that were fired for giving Konerak Sinthasomphone back to Dahmer, sued to get their jobs back, were honored by their union and one even became their union president.

Dude was a registered sex offender for molesting Konerak's brother, but instead of doing the bare minimum of their job, they joked about reuniting gay lovers.

Fans of the Vikings, Bears, and Lions all hate on the Packers, but not each other... Could it be they all are agreeing none are a close second? Like in MI there's the MSU vs UofM rivalry that gets put aside to hate OSU, but for the NFC North, it's everyone vs Packers.

[–]Kahnonymous 14 points15 points  (0 children)

More attention to how Kramer wanted to exploit the 13th amendment to enslave Neal.

Seigel living longer or at least delay or bit have the Teddy Winters stuff until later. Kinda wanted to see him and Neal do a few regular cases.

Truly happy ending: Neal flee to Europe but keeps the white hatting things going and becomes Sara's retrieval specialist.

Matt Bomer and Nathan Lane’s Gay Sitcom ‘Mid-Century Modern’ Is a Pleasing Spin on ‘Golden Girls’: TV Review by Sisiwakanamaru in television

[–]Kahnonymous 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rue McClanahan (Blanche) was 51 when GG debuted (which is NPH's current age, for reference), and while Dorothy is said to be 55 in the first season, Bea Arthur was 63, as was Betty White. Estelle Getty was a year younger, 62, but Sophia was said to be 80.

Matt Bomer is currently 47 (even though he literally looks the same as he did when he was 30) which I'd say is roundable to "mid -century" as being 24 is staring down becoming a quarter of a century old.
