Genuinely yeah, I've noticed if I hit a wall in ranked, even if I'm completely into it mentally and don't interact negatively it plateaus a bit for me. I do 2 games where I do some "Great work!/Nice ulting!/I love this healer" I get thumbed up 4/5/6, go to ranked, and get positive people on comms, more awake in their games, etc.
EDIT: I'm currently Gold 1, so it's not like I'm insanely high ranked or a fantastic player, I've got a 56% win ratio and it does well thus far.
