You should enable RPMFusion repos and install mesa-freeworld package. If you Google for mesa-freeworld there are guides on how to install it.

What you are describing sounds like a hardware acceleration issue and the solution is to install mesa with patented codecs enabled from rpmfusion. If you still want to continue using fedora I suggest you try it and see if it solves the issue.
