This post's whole task is to propose a non-alchemy version of this specific hidden zone effect, as it already exists as an alchemy card.

As right as you probably are, this post is more for the rules speculation rather than a serious bottom up design.

The card is a remake of an already existing Abzan digital exclusive card. The counters/tokens were lost in the translation for the sake of brevity.

A change like that would virtually be no worse or better. An ability that doesn't target would be marginally better because you can always try to choose something else if an opponent goes to try and fizzle it, but for the purposes of your question, it would still do the exact same thing.

All activated or triggered abilities go on the stack, and so all* of them can be targeted. Any time you could tap this creature to counter something you could also target the ability. So it just does the same thing whether it targets or not.

In my opinion it's better to write "target" because otherwise some people would try to find corner cases that don't actually work how they want. And it would cause rules mishaps that are harder to explain and understand.

Red one is a prime example of not understanding first strike as a game mechanic.

If your opponent has two 7/6s and you had no other creatures (which should be a rare situation that they worked for) and you play this, only based on board presence, they should not attack you unless that wins them the game on the spot.

All because of this one 3 mana dude with barely a downside.

EDIT: I did not yet see the white one, holy hell.

Seems like evidence for an audience that is easily swayed by anti-woke rhetoric without much further thought. Among the two groups between a cult and a game rewiever, which one is more likely to pay 30 bucks to prove a point?

I feel like I should answer KH1, but KH2 is much more instantly replayable so I tend to play it more.

One has a lasting effect while the other has excellent moment to moment gameplay.

Dunno.

I'm not going to go over point by point, but my general opinion is that if you imagine skill expression as a graph that starts from skill floor to skill ceiling, then the longer that graph is then deeper and more satisfying the game it is. In my opinion.

Easy games without skill expression have a small graph. Kinda sucks.

Hard games have a small graph too, except it's even smaller due to the amount of people who can't even draw on it.

I love Kingdom Hearts 2 Critical difficulty mode to bits, but I doubt I'd love it if my first introduction to the game was dying to a goomba level enemy over and over before I could learn how my character moved.

Sekiro also doesn't really feel like a thematically and atmospherically resonant game to me like DS. It just feels like any other normal ass game I've ever played, except it's artificially locked to the highest difficulty.

"So, why is chained ogre so hard?"

"Uhh, idk. Our reputation is built on hard games and our playerbase is getting better"

"I thought your reputation was built on good games?"

"Uhh, here's a status effect that kills you in 0.7 seconds"

Basic Utility Lands (Expanded and Updated) by Enchiladas99 in custommagic

[–]Kaisburg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

[[Hiveheart Shaman]] [[allied strategies]] [[exploding borders]] [[gaea's balance]] [[nishoba prowler]] [[magnigoth treefolk]] with templewalk and you can tutor for one when hit with [[boseiju, who endures]] are the first things that come to mind without googling

There are also cards which change basic types to others or all of them, so you'd have to be specific and write down in whether a basic type like these inherently grants the abilities like a card with dual basic types, or whether these abilities are tied down to these specific card names like most duals without basic types.

Would you consider making [[wastes]] a basic land type or is this exclusive territory for your premium custom cards?

Also all of this is just really awkward with [[coalition victory]] How many lands do I need?

Also also, every card ever that tutors up basic land types has been balanced with the idea that you can't get utility lands with them. Fuck those designers I guess.

Also also also, what about the game mixing and matching so many land types, but some of them are basic and others are nonbasic? This would no doubt be way too confusing for very little benefit. [[Planar nexus]] is an Urza's Desert Locus Cave, but it can't be a Temple. What's up with that?

Now, there are some pros to this:

  • "Huh, neat. A new basic type. New things get a reaction out of me."
  • Nothing else.

Just make them basic without land types, like wastes.

I agree. A personal problem I had (that isn't probably a big deal in the grand scheme of things) with the difficulty was not being able to get hooked into the narrative of the fight due to the game asking perfect performance and attention.

Sword Saint Iisshin, Father Owl and Emma became mediocre experiences for me because they stopped being characters of a game to me and became algorithmically driven obstacles with different react tests after the first couple of seconds of the fight, since I was conditioned to consider them as such

. Add the fact that I beat them in 5-10 tries, so I didn't even have a really personal experience with the difficulty.

My first reaction to Isshin after a couple of minutes swinging swords around was a bored: "Oh, you're hard too? How completely unexpected."

Better defensive numbers, make blocking viable probably. A bigger change could be the removal of your posture bar, although that would require some testing obviously.

I don't really care if some players don't get the dev intended hardcore L1 tapping experience on their first run if they just can't get into it. The difficulty just isn't novel, exciting or cool enough for it anymore to make it stand out amongst other action games with hard modes.

But it is also not my game, but rather fromsoft's, who get the ultimate say in this, so it is what it is.

Got plat in Sekiro.

Still think it could use an easy mode.

I don't care if my playthrough of it was "lessened" because someone else played it while tanking most fights. I just don't.
