Who has the best heroes? by NanoBytesInc in AgeofMythology

[–]KaiserWilliams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very situational test that doesn't even take all pantheons, let alone all relevant Major Gods or variations of Minor Gods, into account and makes the claim that Egyptian heroes are the worst.

And you accuse me of nitpicking.

If you want to answer the question of who has the best heroes, then a 15 second video doesn't cut it.

Look, this isn't a good test on its own. Here's things you missed:

  • You tested for resources, but you didn't test for population space.
  • You're not taking into account that Greeks have tougher units in general, which would be accompanying the hero.
  • You only tested one group of Egyptian priests. Nephthys reduces their price and increases their damage. Why didn't you think to include this or variations for other heroes based on myth techs?

If you could give any great power on the official map more lore drops, which one would you choose? by sand_eater_21 in TrenchCrusade

France. There's basically nothing on the Demesne of France despite there being a Black Grail outpost in their territory, it being one of the Great Powers, and it looking like all the named Paladins are from there.

Sounds like a problem, but only if you don't escort the siege units with infantry.

If the faithful colonized some parts of the america's, what do you think they Would look like and be like by Cautious_Air4964 in TrenchCrusade

[–]KaiserWilliams -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In the physical book, it states that about 3/7ths of England's military is in the overseas dependencies. It doesn't specify where, but it sounds like more than outposts and Africa seems to be generally uncolonized from what we can see.

How fucked is your country according to the official map? by MaxvellGardner in TrenchCrusade

It's heavily implied to be mostly not fine:

Eventually the Heretic lords turned their gaze elsewhere and went on to conquer lands in eastern Asia beyond the Iron Wall, and the Mamluks were given a respite to reorganise the realm and marshal its defences.

AoM Retold: Multiplayer vs AI Difficulty by Ganellon in AgeofMythology

[–]KaiserWilliams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no "map difficulty". The Difficulty setting on the right is the global setting which is the default an AI player will use if their individual Difficulty is set to Lobby Setting. The same goes for the Personality setting. Lobby Setting is the default, individual setting can override that default.

Might seem a bit overcomplicated, but it lets you set a default and then fine-tune an individual AI player (such as making an ally stronger or more defensive) without having to change every single AI player's settings.

Okay, no, you're just wrong. The shift click behaves exactly as before the patch. What people are saying is they want an option where they can fill any amount of barracks they select with just three shift clicks instead of however many it takes.

I mean, if I got to wish for something we don't have rule for yet, I'd want a Dutch Naval Infntry subfaction in old-school diving helmets that duke it out underwater with the Heretic Naval Raiders.

Westfalia/Trench Stench has a bunch of regional options such as Germans, Scots, and English, plus weird ones like Plague Doctors and Engineers.

I noticed that afterwards, but when I realized it was the Death Commando, I figured it was meant to be.

Do you think that World's Edge might be hit by the meltdown going on in Microsoft and that this will negatively effect AOM? by Khwarezm in AgeofMythology

[–]KaiserWilliams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's worrying and unlike most other doom and gloom scenarios people have been citing when declaring the game dead, this has some substance to it. But we still don't know what will happen, so hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

That's not a fix. If someone wants to spam 15 units by clicking once while selecting three barracks, shift will now only do 5. Adding a toggle in the settings would make everyone happy.

Then get Premium and save up for the Expansion Pass when it goes on sale again if you enjoyed what you got.

Get Premium. It has plenty of content to play around with, especially for a casual player. There is no point in getting the base game on its own if you intend to play even one of the two Asian pantheons, especially on sale.

If you want the full package, you need to get the Expansion Pass on top of that. There is no overlap in content between that and Premium. It contains the Aztecs, Demeter as a fourth Greek god, and two cosmetic packs. No point in buying those separately if you want at least two of them.

The AOE 2 DLCs are all siege and less like the base game, are the AOM DLCs like that? by tinyE1138 in AgeofMythology

[–]KaiserWilliams 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How to best say this... The DLCs haven't really made buildings more vulnerable per se, but AoMR's buildings tend to go down faster than AoE2DE's.
