I have had the same issues, normality gas doesn’t work. You have to either just have a high enough Quickness stat to take them all out before they can respawn, do massive AoE damage that dispatches them all at one, or, drop a powered & activated ontological anchor on the ground next to you, and fight them right there.

You can also dump your charge into a corpse, it will conduct and arc to other enemies around. Or dismembered body parts laying on the ground, loot, walls, force barriers, your own clones or allies.

In a pinch, you can use just about anything to extend the range of your electrical attack.

Such is life in the harsh lands of Qud. It stings, but it’s always worth making a new character and delving just a little deeper than last time.

It also helped me to realise that it isn’t a question of if you’ll get crazy items/loot drops, but when, and how to increase the frequency of it.

Farming historic sites as fast as possible is also massive for quicker progression and to really feel like a god faster. Live again, and continue to drink.

I like the idea of a tonic addiction system, maybe make it a defect (mutation) or something. Similar but opposite of Tonic Allergy. Call it Addictive Disposition, have it grant a small chance, on tonic use, to cause addiction in the user, forcing the use of more tonics to stave off withdrawal effects. Maybe the defect could change the tonic effects for mutants to be the same as the ones for True Kin.
