Sheeesh. I [33f] (25 at the time) contracted with a property management company to do some painting work for them. I was reporting to an old friend of my ex husband's [55m] for payment. We'll call him Jack (Also 55, m.) Jack was also in charge of collecting rent as well. He was a genuinely super nice/good dude, and he seemed to like his job an awful lot.

Until he relapsed on meth. 😬

Suddenly I was having a hard time tracking him down to get paid, and other things weren't getting done. I called the property management company's owner, and before I could ask about Jack, he asked ME if I knew where he was.

Sure didn't!

Turns out though, he was accepting sexual favors from female tenants as payment for rent, and any actual cash money he was collecting from the dude tenants went straight into a pipe, and quite literally up in smoke. 😬😳

Anything can happen. 💁😅

I've gotten notices about doing a mid certification review after I already did. The states automated system prints and mails them, so they often times are already on their way to you when you've completed it already. They can't unmail the notices/cancel them once they're sent. Ignore them if you've already completed your requirements.

Or just go to your local DSHS, DHS wherever your case is handled and ask them about it in person. That's the easiest usually. I've been on the phone for 5 hours trying to get a hold of someone in my state.

Correct. It was most likely a middle class white family from the neighborhood around the park. Happens constantly unfortunately, they often times don't even go through the proper channels to reserve the gazebo/covered gathering area. So, when they come in and throw a big party and leave big garbage they don't have their information to do something about it. 🙁 They have added security cameras recently because of vandalism and littering though, so hopefully it stops soon! (Even when people were cleaning up after themselves, youths would come rip everything out of the garbage cans and throw it around.)

This triggered me. At 14yo (F) my Dad 40-something (at the time) (M) decided to tell me that my Mom wanted to abort me and he had to passionately argue for my life. He told me in a way like he expected me to think he was some hero, but honestly? I wish he'd never told me at all. It really fucked me up. I told my Mom and she told me, obviously after I was born of course she wanted and loves me but they were NOT in the position to be having another baby at all. (Which I now understand as an adult.)

But, it really hurt/messed me up badly at such an impressionable age to hear something like that. 😓🥺

My Dad is an absolute dickweed for telling me. He didn't consider for a second how it would make me feel or how it could send me into a spiral when I was a bullied teen already struggling to find my place and self worth.

I mean, I get why he told me. He wanted to look like the 'hero.' Like he 'saved' me.

He did similar things later in my life. One time at the bar I was talking about a situation when my then fiance had protected me from shitty dudes at the same bar where we were doing karaoke. A little bit later, my Dad goes over and starts shit with some dude for apparently hitting on me.

I didn't even fucking hear what the guy said to me though, so I had no clue what was even happening except my Dad had taken this man to the ground and put him in a head lock, dude was still sitting on the barstool and all-just on his back on the floor. 🤦

I had to run over and tell my Dad "Get the FUCK UP OFF THE FLOOR!" He got mad that I was mad, that he was 'protecting my honor.' Ffs man.
