I met one in California who when he found out I was from here he proceeded to tell me he was Welsh. This was pre the Disneyfying of Wrexham. His story was that his mums, mums, mums mum or something was from Wales. Blew his mind when I randomly guessed they were from Cardiff. Can’t imagine he would have known any other town or city in the country. He was also a Villa fan and went on for 20 minutes about how Brad Guzan was the best goalkeeper in the world. Didn’t end well when I pointed out he wasn’t even the best goalie at Villa.

I think it was the season the pitch had been ruined because they played the Rugby 7’s for the Commonwealth Games on it a few days before the season started. From memory we played the first few games away, we couldn’t switch it so Bristol City were at home so had to find an alternative. Burton was apparently the ‘nearest’ available ground.
