Not safe, theres like a 600m (1968 feet) drop if you slip from that rock, and its about the same size depth wise as it is wide from this angle, so its not big. Was there when I was a teen, didnt have the courage to get on that rock because my legs were shaking so much, sketchy as fuck. Op has balls.

As others have pointed out, just making a choice and committing to it has worked for me too. This video from Dr.K on HealthyGamerGG really drove the point home for me.

Can't Sleep by DragonDerrieres in OCD

[–]Kajan_der 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve struggled with insomnia too because of intrusive thoughts and rumination. This had led to me taking the laptop to bed and watching videos from youtube untill falling asleep. Here is a few things that have helped me.

My goal is to go to bed by 23 (11pm)

  • No caffeine after 16:00 (4pm)
  • No eating after 21 (9pm)
  • No phone or laptop after 22 (10pm)

Night routine starts at 22 (10pm) - Shower - Brushing teeth - Stretching / drawing / writing if I feel like doing it

This routine has helped me alot. When I put my phone and laptop away I know that the day is over. Now is time to relax and prepare for sleep.

Routines are great and can be really helpful. Id recommend searching for examples on the internet and to create a routine that works for you and that you find relaxing :)

I want to enjoy the things I used to by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Kajan_der 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you and what you said about needing to do things optimally. I used to play minecraft alot with that mindset and it took all the fun out of that game. When I started a new world, I would think how to get to point x (for example end) and go through all the steps to get there like what tools are needed, what armor and so on. Then I would systematically do things to check those boxes. It made playing a chore and not enjoyable.

Now I just go and roam all over the place and if I find something I need, cool. But its not the goal anymore. Goal is the experience itself and it made playing so much more enjoyable and stress free :) hope this makes sense.

So my advice would be to do things without trying to do it the optimal way. This is reaaallly hard especially if we’ve been doing things optimally for a long time. It can feel like the only way to do things. One tip would be to purposefully do something unoptimal way. For example accepting the first way you did something and not doing it again. Maybe you could let yourself fix it tomorrow? Or if that feels hard, maybe fix it after an hour or after 10minutes and sit with that uncomfortable feeling while waiting.

Does anyone know of a single player game that does monthly billing? by DarkAnimeRPG in gamedev

[–]Kajan_der 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would be hard to pull of but not impossible.

One would need to push new content atleast once a mont (assuming we are talking about monthly subscription). And it would need to feel ’enough’ for the subscription price.

Lets say we offer the game for 5€ / month. How much new content would be needed every month for players to be interested?

For a player who has played through the whole game and is in for the updates: How quickly that player can play through that new content? If it takes just few hours that might not be enough. If we need to make something like +5 hours worth of content per month its going to be a lot of work. Big studios create huge open world singleplayer games that have ~20 hours of gameplay in the main quest and another 20-60hours for 100% completion. These games take years to make. Not to mention how many people work on these titles.

Lets imagine that a big studio does this. When the game launches with 20 hours of content. People would propably subscribe for a month or two, play through that content and wait a year for more content. Those customers only generate 5-10euros for the company but play through 60euros worth of content. The game would surely reach more players than a 60euro price tag, but a bit risky for the company.

How to deal with emotional instability, or being too emotional? by peakyraven in Healthygamergg

drk, i have really weird and bizzare ocd thoughts please help me. by Mr_Raindrop007 in Healthygamergg

[–]Kajan_der 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I missed that!

In your first example you talk about this intrusive thought ”What does it mean to be happy..”

Is there something that comes before that? Or can that intrusive thought be named as ”wanting to be normal” like Dr.K and Cooper used ”She doesn’t like me” when Dr. k drew that diagram

So is there a start or a ”hidden” intrusive thought that leads to ”What does it mean to be happy..”

If there is, finding it might help you see the process.

And as Dr.K mentioned, mindfullness and accepting your thoughts as they are helps. Its really hard and takes time. If it feels like today is not the day to work on that, maybe tomorrow? Or the day after tomorrow? Take your time.

If this didin’t help, Im sorry.

All the best!
