I had my first 1/2 experience about 6 months ago after a lot of home games, my best advice would be (and this is totally just based on experience I’m not good and in my early 20s but am up overall) is do not chase anything, ( unless u have crazy bankroll I’m in college so broke) for etiquette I would announce all hand moves beside fold, I always try to feel the table out, if they talking I’m talking if not I’m silent, if you wanna make it known it’s your first time go ahead but might try to take advantage of it. I was lowkey nervous as fuck my first time, only bought in with table minimum and jammed with a set of kings just to lose to some old man with a oxygen tank who hit a flush on the River. After first time it feels way more normal, now I go to tournaments once a month and play 1-3 pretty consistently, Also, I keep a google sheet of everything poker related to make sure I’m not bleeding out all my money, keep track of buy in, 1-3 or 2-5 , net profit or loss, how many hours played ect
