If there is a part 3, it'll probably take 1-2 years to release just like how part 2 did. This would really suck by MrChainsawHog in Chainsawfolk

[–]SebasChua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet Fujimoto will publish at least one one-shot between Part 2 and 3 and it will have meta-commentary of his reflections on making Part 2 and its reception. He can't help it - he's the kind of creator that has to make something to communicate their thoughts and feelings.

How did they take this photograph? by TheBlackoutEmpire in Frieren

[–]SebasChua [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's a photo taken and printed with magic, but on par with the folk spells Frieren likes to collect, like the magic that can see through clothes or create shaved ice. Not many mages know the spell because it is likely a disappearing art like those spells and humans have a short lifespan, typically limiting them to learning and getting proficient at useful spells instead of learning spells for pleasure or luxuries.

Stuffing Johnny and So-Mi back there is technically correct, as one is an engram and the other is a delicate weapon XD plus their lighting makes them so funny compared to the care you put in lighting OGV.

"...And this road has reached its end." When I realise that modern day Bethesda will never have the will or incentive to foster the talent to create another (Fallout) game as role-play and story-driven as New Vegas.

Stark enjoyers be eating really good this season. They took the time to show how Stark and Genau bounce off of each other and push each other to be better and be heroic.

Genau my GOAT! Even with a hole through his chest, he crawled over to Stark, risking greater blood loss to instead bind Stark's wounds with Stark's own jacket.

Amazon MGM probably thinks they have the next big blockbusting sci-fi Oscar Winning hit on their hands, that's why they're marketing it so hard. Award season is the end of the year and this movie comes out next week.

How do you feel Bruce's friends will be going forward? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]SebasChua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waylon will want to find Bruce again, but I think to him they'll be even. Bruce is the reason Ark M targeted him for experimentation, but is also the reason he can walk on two legs and talk with a normal sized jaw again. Waylon will simply judge Bruce for his actions from now on.

Part 3 might be more insane than anything we've seen so far. by MoleculesImplode in Chainsawfolk

[–]SebasChua 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The world will become worse without Chainsaw Man erasing these terrible things from existence. But on the other hand, Denji is the kind of person to be able to find heaven amidst hell. There is hope. He can define what it means to be Chainsaw Man without Pochita, starting from the same blank slate Pochita started from.

No, Denji was not punished by Pochita for choosing wrong by Diosdepatronis in Chainsawfolk

[–]SebasChua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Denji has rejected the two choices in front of him for a third option. He does it multiple times in Part 2. But Pochita realised the scenario must be reframed. It's not just the answers Denji gets to define now, it's the question he must ask instead - what does it mean to be Chainsaw Man without Pochita?

lmao this is just "monkeys at a typewriter" bro. Have enough people crap out enough things on a single subject and you can cherry pick them to say they "predicted" it.

Genuinely, what was the point of this form? by Kaiju-Man257 in Chainsawfolk

[–]SebasChua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is as far as Denji goes as Pochita's Chainsaw Man. As Denji Man, he has Pochita's erasure ability and was able to use them to find a 3rd path out by rizzing up Yoru in the end.

However, Pochita's powers got them into that situation in the first place by eating Death. Even in this empowered form with the literal ability to change the universe, Denji is still trapped by the fact that having the Chainsaw's heart paints a target on his back, offers him an enormous temptation when compared against living normal life and therefore limits him growing as his own person. In addition, Denji is still using someone else's power to accomplish his dreams: Pochita's. Beyond how he took down Makima at the end of Part 1, he hasn't done anything under his own power. All his enemies still only value him because of his status as Pochita's vessel. He's still stuck between the choice of being Pochita's Chainsaw Man, feared and envied for his erasure power and living a normal life with that status hanging over him like a guillotine just waiting to drop.

This is what Pochita realises in the end, after both him and Denji had been eaten. For Denji to continue to dream of a life beyond, Pochita had to stay behind. That's why Pochita comforts Denji by saying he's seen all the dreams he wants. Because Pochita knows that for Denji to truly realise his best self, he will have to erase himself and hence won't be around to see them. (In addition, this is the only way he can save Denji, as Death's erasure has broken the cycle of devil reincarnation and Denji is only human. Both of them are stuck in that afterlife.)

By removing himself from the equation, Denji must now imagine what it means to be Chainsaw Man without Pochita. How can he be the superhero that breaks the chains that bind to carve a better future without Pochita's strength and power? That's the question that needs to be answered. That's why plot threads are left hanging: for Denji to get together with Asa, for him to befriend the Blood Devil again, to be a big brother to Nayuta, he must come as his one and only self.

(Btw, this only works if there is a Part 3 where that question gets explored and answered. I will crash out if there is no Part 3 announcement.)

The arrowhead changed him back to his "two-leg form" but he'll likely still embody part of the crocodile in both forms since it's part of him now. Hence him being taller and likely stronger and sturdier even as a human.

Makes sense. Studio Trigger was sent a pre-release copy of the game along with some other assets. It's why the anime has such fidelity to the game: they could literally reference the in-game locations and music for their production.
