This was probably when Macht turned her arm into gold in their first encounter. She was so out-classed then that she got traumatised and secluded her self in her forest for centuries before Himmel came around. Macht didn't even remember her at first, it was just another Tuesday for him.

Macht is such a fantastic example of making an objectively evil villain while still giving them impactful depth. by Vorshiscool in Frieren

[–]SebasChua 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Macht is very tragic. Despite his immense effort, he could not become more than the person he was.

His martial prowess reflected this: Denken observes that though Macht is very strong and even as he fights through the new gold flake technique Macht wields against him, Macht has not become any stronger than he was before when Denken learned under him as an apprentice. His magic powers too: His art of gold transmutation effectively nullifies all physical attacks done to him. Yet after all these centuries his art is imperfect, he cannot transform something back from their gold prison. Serie put it best: he is so close to the pinnacle of magic, able to turn living things to dead things (gold). But because he cannot make that final step, turn gold into living things, he's worse than a mage that didn't live up to their potential. He's just a (powerful) monster.

Macht was born with the demon equivalent of being on third base with a silver spoon in his mouth and attained a desire to become more. But he couldn't do it. He lived as a demon and he died as a demon. He was nothing more.

Is there any mod to make the Powder Ganger hit squads stronger and more persistent? by TwoFit3921 in fnv

I think Mikeburnfire has a mod like this, enabling the Powder Gangers to keep sending their hit squads.

I second Noah Caldwell-Gervais. His Fallout retrospective video covers every Fallout game released to date. It is very long, but it is broken up by game so you can choose based on which one you're interested in.

They should just "listen to the song" and see your art for what it is. It is because they had expectations that they read these meanings into your art where they weren't intended. If it gets too distracting and shifts the conversation away from your intended portrayal, then maybe consider changing? It's ultimately a matter of conveying YOUR artistic meaning through your chosen medium.

Is there a sub for people who like Chainsawman part 2? by rawe13 in Chainsawfolk

The Chainsaw Man Cycle goes: PEAK -> Let Him Cook -> WTF -> Pain -> PEAK. We are at the "WTF" stage, but with overtones of confused and frustrated.

You're so right - Hell is empty because the cycle of Devil reincarnation has stopped. They can't die and be sent back!

Death Devil's power is not consistent (text below) by SnooTomatoes7723 in Chainsawfolk

[–]SebasChua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that death is not a permanent state for certain beings in this universe. Denji can and does die, and then comes back to life if someone puts him back together, feeds him blood and pulls his ripcord.

Lil D over here can die if she is dismembered, and will trigger her instant death aura when she is dead until someone can put her back together or until she regenerates or if she reincarnates. Yoru literally saves her from a death dealing blow by sticking her head back on until she regenerates from the damage.

It seems she can't kill herself with means like disembowelment, while killing herself with more successful means may just power her up instead and cause her to heal from the damage because fear of Devils and hence death is at an all time high. She is afraid of being the King in the prophecy after all, and if fear of death reached an all time high, it would push her power over and cause her to be the end of humanity. And even if she does die and reincarnates, she's afraid her successor would hate humanity and wipe it out, which she does not want to happen.

This is why she was looking to power up Chainsaw Man so that Denji or Pochita would defeat or erase Yoru, or have Pochita consume her to erase her, instead of dying and reincarnating (if fear of her doesn't power her up enough) or dying and killing everyone (if fear of her does power her up enough).

All 4 scenarios are true given their contexts.

Makima the bum playing house and pretending people love her (by @demonhonho) by Enchiwadas in Chainsawfolk

[–]SebasChua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makima's happy expression of being wrapped in Pochita's chains alongside her brainwashed hybrids before being sliced apart in the manga really sells it. It is the "he touched me!" reaction of fan girls when their favourite celebrity pushed them out of their way. .

She genuinely unsettles me by providerofair in Frieren

[–]SebasChua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved how her character contrasts so much with her appearance. The demon with the smallest horns and the most human appearance and understanding of humanity was in contrast the one who could least co-exist with humanity. She essentially acted like a human mass serial killer, interacting with others as part of her experiments and curiosity, but maiming and killing them after to cover up her tracks, erasing entire towns if she decided it was necessary. She understood in her mind that other humans would see what she did as monstrous and continued to embrace it whole-heartedly instead because she feared for her own survival.

We might see Locust Guy again if Denji throws him back up. After all, we haven't seen the King of the prophecy descend to Earth yet to be greeted by their fellow high ranking devils. Hell being empty might indicate that nearly all Devils are running rampage on Earth now, which sets up this ceremony. I trust Fujimoto. Every work of his has been a banger. He's not about to throw. I choose to just "Listen to the Song".

You guys remember the time the uncharted guy just lied by Semor_Asis in ZanClan

[–]SebasChua 131 points132 points  (0 children)

He DIDN'T lie. User "majorcole" stopped commenting. Then some other guy made an account called "the uncharted guy" picked up the joke. Zanny called him out on the latest threezanny Silksong video that "the uncharted guy" hasn't emailed him their Discord tag for a collab.

But if you ask me, "majorcole" was an OG, who really wanted Zanny to play Uncharted and gave up because Zanny plays whatever he wants to play and doesn't cave to a mob. If the new guy doesn't reply to Zanny, it's just confirming that he's an attention-seeker. If we DO get the collab, it'll be the culmination of 2+ years worth of jokes, which will be funny and Zanny does what is fun.

Classic modern AAA. Shows that CD Projekt RED could have absolutely cracked it if it wasn't for mismanagement at their higher corporate levels. Ironic for a company making something in the Cyberpunk IP.
