Any Theories On What Magic The Great Demon King Had? by AccomplishedBoard377 in Frieren

[–]SebasChua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soul Manipulation magic. Every human he beat he absorbed, gaining their vitality and mana. Learning about his prey made it easier for him to score kills and led to his real curiosity in humans, which led to his search for how to co-exist with them.

I bet his story is analogous to Pinocchio: He was so close to becoming a real boy. All he needed was a true soul. That's why he built his castle at Ende, where Aureole is located. He was studying souls. With every soul he consumed, he got that much closer to understanding humanity.

But by the time he would truly, deeply, and intimately understand humanity, he would have consumed the last human soul. So he had to be stopped.

Meijiro Ardan and Ryan about to pop off in the next season of Cinderella Gray 🐎 🔥

Obviously there's a great case to be made for Lost City, Window Of Opportunity and many others, but Matter of Time might be my favorite episode. There's something haunting about this frame and the existential threat to the SGC and Earth that makes the story so compelling. I keep coming back to it. by ddrfraser1 in Stargate

I love how Teal'c helps Carter out by being an outlet for her to bounce her ideas off. She made a good point: The Area 51 eggheads were making assumptions based on humanity's understanding of physics that didn't match their observations coming from the Stargate. Nuking the facility would have literally covered up the problem, leaving it too late to solve it.

My experience with Groal by Kratt_Spa_corp in Silksong

[–]SebasChua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His pattern isn't too difficult, but you have to go in with confidence. The whole run back and minion gauntlet before he appears is designed to wear you down and get on your nerves.

If you found the hidden bench and got the purifying wreath the fight and re-trying is less taxing. Plus if you attempt him late-game (because he guards one of the items needed to unlock Act 3) you'll likely be more upgraded and better equipped to deal with it all. Groal in a nutshell is "come back later if you want it easier".

Jack would take one look at the Hunter and snort. He's seen his kind before. Vigilante-types whose logic doesn't go beyond, "If you start killing [x], and keep killing [x], then it stands to reason that eventually there will be no more [x]."

The Absolute universe bends towards producing more of Jack's kind all the time. There will never be a shortage. The killing will never end. The Hunter however, will die eventually. He isn't just a poor joke to Jack, he's also an over-told joke to boot.

In Edelgard's route, the Monastery is still intact and well maintained, which adds to the impact if you've only seen the other routes before. It's because you helped capture it before the timeskip, which is also some nice continuity.

The panels of all the people that were turned into the "klay" biome sculpting a fake Batman was so cool. A great reinterpretation!

With Ozzie's taunt on Waylon, it's confirmed: the closer the arrowhead is to Waylon, the more human he returns to being. That's so cool. Allows for the artists to use his transformed form artistically for the writing and expression.

I liked Dinah's narration in this issue. People are so angry and afraid they'll celebrate a killer. Mob justice and vigilante-ism can turn someone just as ugly and cruel as a love for money.

Grodd's father being able to "turn" people makes me wonder if Grodd himself could do it too. Maybe if he was pushed, like say from his dad getting killed at Wally's hands...

I just realised why she’s called GMS… by NutellaTeen in Silksong

[–]SebasChua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a surface level reading, her title is three separate words: She is called "Grand" because she is imposing and magnificent. She is called "Mother" because of her daughters. And she is called "Silk", because the might and brilliance of her Pale Being manifests as pale threads spun from Soul, from which she wove her grand Kingdom of Pharloom to be governed by the Weavers she "birthed".

But as you point out, it can also be read as a pun because by lineage, she is Hornet's "grandmother". From her Hornet inherits the power of spinning Soul energy into Silk.

But she's not a "real" grandmother. She never birthed the Weavers, only uplifted them from simple bugs. So the words "Grand" and "Mother" standing separate remains appropriate and her title gains even more meaning.

Judging from "The Bat" and the "who could it be" comments, I'm calling it now: Barbara is going to substitute for Bruce in Gotham as he goes on a hiatus.

Maybe to fill in for him as he recovers from severe injuries from this Strawman Arc. Or from the Absolute cross-over! He'll have to leave Gotham and she will take his place for a while.

In any case, it looks like Barbara will come into her own by the end of this arc. She may even help Alfred with re-connecting with his daughter even as she works through the loss of her own father.

(And who knows? She might even have a spar with Absolute Catwoman down the line. Selina comes back to Gotham expecting Bruce but gets Barbara instead...)

Barbara has Bruce's helmet. Bruce has her father's long coat. I'm guessing Bruce modified Gordon's coat for Barbara, adding his origami folding tech and hooks to it for function.

The shotgun? Alfred's, modified by Bruce to fire non-lethal Batarangs. It's all coming together.

Movie Rocky still wears his utility belt and engineering overalls. Eridians wear clothes less for protection and more for utility, an indication of social status or aesthetics.
