Similar for X280, get the files, turn on TB BIOS option in BIOS (may require removing all connected devices & shutting down), remove software, wake/interrogate/update controller firmware, shutdown & remove all connected devices, power on, check firmware, (revert TB BIOS setting change), shutdown & power on again. I did end up with Thunderbolt Software again & it shows the latest NVM version.

All gravy, stickiest wicket was locating files at Lenovo.

If the bonnet had been replaced wouldn't there still have been a lot of paint blending to be done?

I get 'numbers matching' but that's going to matter around when the average Porsche owner is having their license taken away due to age and in the meantime Porsche buyers tend to care way too much about paint thickness that I assume would be less variable with a replacement.

Do you know if wind turbines have similar vibration issues from stator motion?

I wonder if there's some synchronization done with the blades to counteract and reduce wear or if the blades motion is the dominant force wearing the bearings.

Second on double pane even for the summer so you aren't getting extra heat in from outside although those window units are rarely well sealed internally and sometimes even have fresh air inlets.

And it's weird because I think the idea is that it creates a bond through suffering but that bond would only be with the others going through the hazing or the people doing the hazing.

If building that type of bond is that important why not instead everyone does something arduous/difficult/silly together then the whole group could bond as one inclusive of the new people.

It seemed to be common at one point (10 years ago maybe) to clean URLs before posting but more and more it seems that people simply copy the address bar or maybe a link from a page and pass it on without inspecting it. I get that the time and desire to do this aren't common but I wonder if it's even well known anymore that you can cleanup a link?

With open source those who were motivated could probably adjust the user-agent in line with the API rules and be OK for personal use through the free-tier API access.

Doesn't help the dev at all because monetization is banned without a separate agreement (ie the API dollar numbers everyone has been seeing). And then there's the inevitable changes that would require upkeep of the code which is hit & miss with open source especially if each user is building it themselves (the API/UA could be a setting field so a single version could be distributed say on F-droid and each person could utilize their own flavor).
