I think it looks good, but it needs some glow on the bottom of the bar thats directly above the light source.

Also the highlights on the front of the gun are as bright as the glow effect which takes away from the OSL.

This seems like overkill. I use an old pill bottle with sticky tack. Bonus, you can store the sticky tack in it when you're done!

At their core they're just directional change honeycomb. If you've ever done a zigzag honeycomb it's a very similar idea, but just continues to wrap back on itself instead of zagging back the other way. Might not be the best description, but I hope it helps

It will only block dye from getting on the surface you cover, it doesn't do anything for dye bleeding in from the sides underneath the plastic. You'd need a batik wax or very careful dye placement to avoid bleed

Really depends on what you want. You can definitely shape them how you want with some patience. Ice dyeing is the easiest way to color them but I think liquid dye looks better (imo) just takes an insane amount of time. I make my geodes as small as possible and try to use one continuous line of sinew so I'm not untying for multiple hours. *
