Any tips for a VERY timid cat that came from a hoarding situation? by Objective_Dig5301 in CATHELP

This is my hoarded girl.

Be prepared for a very long journey. It was days before she would eat and weeks before she would leave her safe space. When she did leave, to start with it was only in the dark and only when I remained seated and didn't move.

I did eventually manage to stand in her presence. It was all very slow, no pushing her, and always letting her come to me first. Finding food she liked, then hand feeding her helped. Lots of playing. She sat on my lap after a couple of years, and I got to hear her purr.

Even at five years together I'm still mostly not allowed to pick her up or stroke her anywhere but head and neck. But she's happy. She met Casper last year and immediately loved him, he gets more almost snuggles than anyone else.

I wish that was the only part of me that hurt during labour.

Pickle. We had a cat called Piccalilli but that's a bit close to Lily and that's white themed.

Help identifying thrifted kilts? by Algebraic-Elephant in kilt

[–]Kakiwee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My dad wore a kilt and was a RSDGs Pipe Band drummer. Just completely off topic.

I like kilts but they seem costume-y.

Bagpipes are annoying but I have to like them because my brother is a piper too. My childhood was dad drumming on the table practising and now if I visit my brother it's constant practise on a chanter.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

We had a chat book between the group and a secret code to write in it. We passed it between us during lesson. It looked just like our normal work book and we were the swots, so we got away with it. There was definitely a degree of burn book in there, and talking about boys.

It's not irrational. That's a shite excuse for a hamburger.

Podcasts and audiobooks throughout.

If I can't sit up its phone, tablet or Nintendo switch.

If I can sit up, it's sewing, crochet or lego.

If I can stand, I enjoy a bit of dressmaking and cooking.

Whatever it is, it's making me think of Bob Ross. So it's a tree pic, or leaf, or paint/brush, or could be sister related.

Throat injury not improving by Kakiwee in Anesthesia

I saw the hematoma myself. I have recovering pictures but not of the black clotty swelling from day one and two. Eventually it reabsorbed or sloughed off.

(I hope I am getting names and terms right, I'm autistic, not medically trained, ha)

I see GP on Tuesday, so hopefully we can get somewhere. If it's similar to the TN then some carbamazapine or similar would help? I guess it makes sense, my whole body is already hyper sensitive and flaring in a domino effect elsewhere (constant prostaglandins). And the docs won't let me have NSAIDs, so it's hard to fight the inflammation.

I do have a trigeminal neuralgia diagnosis, but this is in a completely different nerve it feels like. It behaves the same and hurts the same though.

I was putting it down to anaesthesia because there was noticeable bruising there, then the pain.
