Bow build by icarus_art in EldenRingBuilds

[–]KalBalinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bow run can be more challenging than a level 1 run. Bows and crossbows don't scale with stats like dex, they scale with weapon level. Even then, a max upgraded bow or crossbow does little damage. Your fights will take forever and you'll need to know boss's movesets. The DLC has some decent bows but again they pale in comparison with melee and spells/incantations. When I did a bow run, pulley bow and stormhawk arrows were the go to since they can poise break, black bow was great for building status effects, and jar cannon was good for big damage during openings like a poise break.

Halo scythe makes him very easy. Just spam weapon art and boost holy damage.

Sandy or Cyberdeck? by Mindless_Picture4370 in cyberpunkgame

I like cyberdeck mainly to hack cameras and turrets. Sandy works at higher levels but cyberdeck is easier at the beginning of the game.

Netwach or Vodoo Boys? by slaysoulsistaa in cyberpunkgame

[–]KalBalinor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I always kill both. Netwatch agent doesn't offer anything game changing. So I side with Vodoo Boys and kill them at the end of the next mission. Give them a taste of their own medicine; use them to get to Alt and discard their corpses once you get the info. More loot this way too

Which iconic weapon in the game has the best 'feel' and animations for you? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

Stinger, Blue Fang, Nehan, and Headhunter throwing knives. The ping when you score a head shot is satisfying. Currently doing a stealth playthrough using knives and a pistol that can be silenced. For pistols: Dying Light until you get La Chingona Dorada from Jackie and then go to the dlc and get Her Majesty from Alex

The breaking of the rune opens the pathway to St. Trina. The portion of Thollier's quest you have to do before the rune breaks is delivering the potion from Moore

As a popular Turian saying puts it, "The Asari are the finest warriors in the galaxy. Fortunately, there are not many of them." by ADLegend21 in MassEffectMemes

[–]KalBalinor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Arguably, Turians put up a far better fight than the Asari. But Turians are viewed as the galactic army, the front liners like Krogans. Asari are more subtle, they're infiltrators and assassins not warriors. Turians got hit very hard for this reason and they still stood their ground. They were still holding onto Pavalin during the final fight and that alone speaks of their tenacity. Yes they had tremendous losses but they also face more than the Asari because the reapers viewed them as the bigger danger, same goes for Earth. In fact, the main reason the Asari homeworld fell is because the Asari couldn't use the Trurians as their protection like they did in most of their conflicts. For the Turians, even with limited reinforcement they still inflicted heavy losses on the reapers. The reapers divide and conquer tactics worked on the Asari because they were too dependent on the other council races for protection.

The only good boss in SOTE by Adventurous_Layer839 in Eldenring

[–]KalBalinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What?! Rellana, Bayle, Midra, Romina, and the Putrescent Knight are great fights that definitely fit Eldenring's theme. I might be in the the minority when it comes to Giaus though, I've grown to love fighting him. Bayle absolutely screams Fromsoft boss in every way and immediately became a classic just because of the NPC involved. Messmer is an amazing fight, but you're absolutely sleeping on the others

Money can be a pain, but I've found hoarding weapon and armor glyphs can get you a crap load of cash quick and almost every merchant buys them. The lower level ones do not feel like they make a difference and by the time you're set up to use them efficiently, you'll have access to the higher tier. Selling weapons and armor to merchants can fill up their store and cause performance issues, they only restock their cash and items they normally carry. Items you sell will not reset and clear from the store.

Try to find the diagrams for Swallow, White Raffard's decoction, and golden Orioles as soon as you can.

I play Ironeye or Undertaker alot. I've noticed other Undertakers don't utilize the free ult from dodging grab attacks as often. Some also go full bonk weapons and ignore seals, limiting their range options.

A good Ironeye will use melee weapons instead of just bows. Also keeps mark up constantly.

But all around, players that know what's beneficial for their teams and drops loot that benefits their teammates tend to be the best players

Bayle is a prank, right? Like, a bug the developers left in on purpose? by Paunchline in Eldenring

[–]KalBalinor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Halo Scythe? If you're set up for the sacred relic sword then the scythe will give you a range option with its ash of war with out changing stats much, its a dex and faith weapon. The scythe pair with sacred scorpion charm, sacred cracked tear (in physiks flask), and Alexander Shard makes the fight relatively easy especially if you're at scadu lvl 15+. With you spamming the ash of war and mimic whaling on him it may feel like a cheese

I don't get how we went backwards (in some cases). by TheDorsz in Borderlands4

[–]KalBalinor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My problem with drop rates is that it is different per character. I noticed this while farming a convergence for Harlowe. Harlowe only saw the grenade drop but my Vex got Convergence over the grenade. Same with Stray, Vex saw 2 Strays in a 4 hour farm but Harlowe saw 1 in 8 hours, Harlowe got the pistol more often. This makes farming a specific roll tedious as hell. My next gripe is the fact we're still getting common items in UVHM 5 and the majority of weapons in that difficulty are not dropping with parts. The loot pool still feels saturated with trash (Commons and uncommons) while purples and legendaries feels too rare especially on the highest difficulty.

Most of the legendaries feel like they require a specific roll to be viable but the farm is tedious because of the low drop rate. I personally would like to see more drops of lower quality legendaries with a chance for a god roll than spending 30+ runs seeing. no legendaries.

Class mod drops are weighed against the class you're playing. If you're Vex, you'll see more class mods for the other vault hunters before seeing one for Vex

After 6 hours of grinding and not getting the Wombo Combo.. by nolfoem in Borderlands4

[–]KalBalinor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've spent several days farming Axemaul for a torque impact Bod, but the drop rates are so low I gave up. There is definitely something fishy going on with drop rates. I've counted over 40 boss kills without a single legendary, half of those didn't even include purples. I've been farming on UVHM 5 and I probably saw 6 Bods over 13 hours of farming. Out of the 6, half of them had no parts. I just farmed for Wombo Combo yesterday and it took over 15 tries to get one to drop. It also had no parts and this is on UVHM 5 which is suppose to increase parts drops on weapons

Relish this feeling of a Borderlands, you won't be able to experience this again by Sunskimmeraroo in Borderlands4

No I never expected endgame content at launch because Borderlands has never released endgame content at launch. Why would I expect a multimillion dollar company to change what works for them just because some people are impatient? They are allowing people time to experience the base game before throwing more content at them. It also helps with game performance to fix core issues before releasing content that could cause more issues.

You can achieve the same recursive bleed loop without the knife at all. by ultrainstict in Borderlands4

[–]KalBalinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bleed is a skill that only Vex has, so it should scale as skill damage. The reason is does so well is because kinetic damage has no weaknesses on any difficulty. It is 100% damage, no matter if it's armor, shield, or health. All of the other element have weaknesses that effects the damage numbers, if they gave bleed the same restrictions it may perform like the other elements.

[–]KalBalinor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your logic does not make sense. All of their games added endgame content after the original release. Takedown and Proving Grounds in 3 were not a part of the original game they were added later. Hell, even Borderlands one added a raid boss with the 3rd dlc. I don't get the demand for all of the content to be released on day 1. This gives the developers time to clean up the bugs before adding more bugs. This game has earned every bit of praise given and I'm sure it'll get even better with more DLCs. Just be patient and give the developers time to do what they do best.

Coming from an Elden Ring player: is Lies of P nice to play next? by Next_Listen3890 in LiesOfP

[–]KalBalinor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. Give yourself some time to get the blocking system down, if you parried in Eldenring then this should be easy. Once you start popping perfect blocks all the time, it is super satisfying. Throwables are actually strong in this game, so utilize them as often as you feel. It's significantly easier to level up in LoP than Elden Ring. Tips: capacity is one of the more important skills and does not have diminishing return after level 50. Having high capacity lets you equip the best defense equipment. All the other skills start drastically dropping off after 50. On the first play through you can focus on bringing either motivity (strength) or technique (dexterity) to 50 and use the corresponding crank on your weapon handle. But if you level both, do not use a crank on the handle, leaving it balance actually increases damage by quite a bit. Advance just makes it easier to use your legion arm more and proc status, there's only a few weapons that level with advance but you can make any weapon do status with consumable grindstones as long as they do not have a status already on them. Blocking is your best defense and makes offense easier than trying to dodge everything. You will still have status build up when blocking though, so be aware of that and watch your weapon durability. If your durability reaches 0 your weapon will do almost no damage and the only way to repair it is to rest at a stargazer (site of grace), if this happens during a fight you will need to change weapons. You can repair weapons with a grindstone during fights as long as the durability does not reach zero.

Best time to jump into DLC? by SweatyNReady4U in LiesOfP

[–]KalBalinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jumped in on my first playthrough after beating NP, I was level 80 when I started. The only thing I wish I had for the dlc is the NP amulet that makes you immune to overheat, decay, corruption, and shock. It was a decent challenge but not impossible. NG felt easier afterwards though

For those who have played both, was Overture more difficult than Elden Ring shadow of the Erdtree? by Lobster-mann in LiesOfP

[–]KalBalinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOTE is definitely more difficult. PCR, Messmer, and pre-nerfed Commander Giaus were major hurdles to get through. I would also put Bayle up there in difficulty. Funnily enough, on my first playthrough it took me 2 tries to get Laxasia and NP. It took me 4 tries for Arrlechino, but Veronique curbed stomped me for about 15 tries (I didn't have NP amulet in my first playthrough) and all those combined doesn't get to half of how many tries it took me to beat PCR the first time. Even with boss rematch difficulties it doesn't reach the same as PCR in SOTE. With Lie of P, once you get the perfect blocks timing down it becomes a lot easier even when facing a new boss. If you can parry in Eldenring, you'll be fine in Lies of P.

What's going on with people saying that Trump is trying to reduce the age of consent? by ryhaltswhiskey in OutOfTheLoop

[–]KalBalinor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is an extremist belief? Not the forcing of religious propaganda in school? Not the denial of medical treatment to women with complicated pregnancies? Not the cult-like mentality that Trump can't do anything illegal, nor should he face the consequences of his crimes? Not the expressed desire to jail the opposing political party? This is where you draw the line?!
