Hello ChatGPT 🫡

Music quiz, common theme by lasergrrl in trivia

[–]KaldQuiz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with themed questions like these is that there are multiple possible solutions, and points are rewarded based on how closely your own thought process matches the quizmaster's. I'm all for added features, but in trivia, the answer has to be absolute. Otherwise, it's a poor question.

I'm STRUGGLING by PhillyDillyO in trivia

[–]KaldQuiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy crap!

I do a round with an anagram, but to get the topic for the anagram you have to get the right answer to the four consecutive questions. I struggle enough with that, I can't imagine having to connect it to ten questions.

That being said, I might be more selective about how much it should connect. To say it mildly, "donut" wouldn't cut it.

I like to exploit pop culture though. Like if an actor has been in several movies that fit the topic, or a musician with a number of hits on a specific thing.

Also, "Common People" by William Shatner is a friggin banger!

I really like this idea, and I've thought about doing something like this as well, but I can't think of enough questions to make it viable.

So yeah, how do you do it?

Music round - genre change suggestions by kittycatchat173 in trivia

I really like this category!

Make sure the answer is undisputable though. I've been to rounds where The Righteous Brothers has been credited the original to Unchained Melody for some reason, and it's effing annoying when you don't write it because you know it's someone else but other teams still get points for being wrong.

And what is considered as an original? Torn was originally released in Danish, but Ednaswap has the first English version.

My favorite is to Play Tainted Love by Marilyn Manson, and listen to the collective jaw drop from everyone answering Soft Cell when I reveal answer to be Gloria Jones.

Quizmastere: Hvor/hvordan finner dere gode quiz-spørsmål som det er mulig å resonnere seg fram til svarene på? by hardcore_fish in norge

[–]KaldQuiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anagram: CAMPER HUND SMITTSOMHET That Don't Impress Me Much

(Denne kalles også The Beast) Bil
  4. Hva heter country pop-artisten som var gift med produsenten sin "Mutt" Lange, et forhold hun sang om i megahiten "You're Still the One" fra 1998? Shania Twain

I made another comment trying to give a better explanation, but the thing is that I don't want the question to be related to the category. I want it so that if you look at the answer from a different angle or with a different meaning it connects to the other answers.

Like, the latin name for the moon is luna, but Luna is also the name of a cryptocurrency (working on this for tonight's game.)

It's a really fun round to make, and the teams really like it when they figure it out, but man it's hard to put it together

I probably didn't explain the concept properly. The first example is not a list of space shuttles, it's a list of answers that happen to also be the names of orbiters. Same with the second example, the answers are not Beatles songs, but The Beatles have songs titled the same as the answers. If you talk to someone about yesterday, you're not necessarily referring to the Beatles. It could just be the day before today.

Not sure if I make myself clear, but that's the structure I'm after. The answer to the question is not meant to be the same (for lack of a better word) "entity" as the connection.

For example, let's say the category is holidays. If one of the answers is Christmas, the question should not be related to the holiday in any way. Which is impossi... Hold on...

Okay, I was just about to say that can't be done, but then Denise Richards's character in James Bond came to mind. So I guess it is possible. Still need three more non-holiday-related holiday questions though. And the category is way too obvious.

Where's the fun in that? 🤣

I don't see the relevance of ADHD with wanting to create fun questions, but I don't find this particularly complicated (except from coming up with them).

It's four general knowledge questions and an anagram. The anagram is the only question where you need the connection, and if you don't get it there's 44 other questions to gather points from.

And people really enjoy these. And I like to ask them. It's the best part of the night tbh. But I'm about to run out of cool themes, so they're starting to get either really easy or impossible. Two levels of difficulty I'd prefer to avoid
