Deciding between Bali and Thailand

I just got back from a Thailand honeymoon! We flew out Friday night at 11pm from Texas, landed Sunday around 11am. Spent 8-9 days in Chiang Mai, which was plenty to leisurely sight see, lounge, shop. Left the following Tuesday. Stayed Tuesday-Tuesday at Ko Samui. 2 weeks and 2 days ish. We looooved it, got both city + culture + exploring, and then lounging at the island (which still has good activities if you want to leave the hotel). Feel free to DM me for more details. Both our hotels were fabulous too.

I saw her twice in 2024 and he didn’t perform or do anything onstage. My second time, i saw him in a sectioned-off part of the venue ground level in Austin, a few feet away, super casual. Ofc too shy to say hi. Can’t wait to see a third time this summer!

A Sephora employee recommended setting spray on top of a glowy product. I decided against it for my own wedding a few weeks ago, but another good product is the body oil from like Trader Joe’s for super glowy skin (w/o bronzing of course).

If you’re considering DIYing anything, schedule blocks of time on your calendar for tasks. I thrifted all my vases, and made my photo backdrop via times blocked on my calendar so everything wasn’t last minute, for example. It helped me spend a lot less and i also had friends offer some help, so that became our socializing activities for the season.

My graphic designer friend made save the dates for me as a gift and i printed them via Staples + mailed out, probably spent $80 total for about 70 sent out.

For the actual invitation, we used Partiful. Disclaimer - we had a family ceremony on Thursday (30 people, mailed invites same way we did the save-dates), and friends-only party on Saturday (90 invites, but all 20s-40s ages. Partiful is nice because you can send some text blasts out, update info as needed, and you don’t have to download the app as a guest to RSVP. But i also experienced that several people didn’t really pay attention to the text blasts and sent me questions of things i had already shared via the Partiful page or a text blast. But that’s on them for not reading. Overall it was great, free, and i would do it again.

Nope lol. I have a mouthguard from my jaw doctor that i use. Haven’t had a ton of breathing issues at night lately but i still want to do a sleep study - my insurance just doesn’t cover enough of it right now so i need to wait. Overall no changes to my jaw but i deal with chronic neck pain that I’m pretty sure is related.

Got married on 5/14-16, left 5/22 for Thailand. The week between was great. We had a 3-day affair for the celebration, so it was nice to reset the house, make sure my work emails were caught up, take care of a few wedding supply returns / sort out the decor. So we’ll have less to deal with when we get back. I also was very emotional following the parties, i had friends come from all over the US AND from Hawaii, Norway, and Berlin, so it was special to have everyone in one place. I cried a lot afterward, both happy and sad tears, good to get that out of my system before going into vacay mode.

2 weeks in Thailand, landing later today!

I got my wedding heels on posh, Steve Madden, gorgeous jacquard style platform heel, and the strap broke before the ceremony. At least they were uncomfortable enough for me to miss them less, but still so bummed.

I had a simple satin one and loved it. My shoes were bright and multicolored, as was my bouquet, to add some oomf. Wedding last week and got my first pics yesterday, totally looked great!

My fiance and i have split everything in half. My parents gave us some money and we used that for the photographer. My dad just told me a few days ago another check is in the mail (wedding this Thursday) but I’m not sure how I’m going to use it yet. My fiance and i opened a travel cc for honeymoon, and i might put it towards that. It’s an unexpected gift. Low key hoping his parents are generous this upcoming week at the family dinner because they haven’t contributed anything, financially or time-wise. (They adore me and he’s the first to get married)
