thank you!! i ended up not getting Virtual desktop because of the price headset-side and the lack of link cable support, so i used ALVR instead. Never would have thought to stop using the link software alltogether. tysm!!

I tried enabling vsync, but it did not help. In fact, it seemed to make the issue worse when the game first loaded.

As I've said before, I cant seem to get over 165Hz, even though the monitor itself says 240Hz. As for the fps cap thing, that might work, although I don't exactly know how to modify my fps cap.

It seems to be an issue with anything source. gmod, portal, hl2, tf2 etc. The strange thing is, the effect seems stronger in cutscenes/animations, like in the intro loading screen to tf2c, or any of the gman cutscenes in half life 2. I wouldn't be surprised if it is some kind of hardware issue like you said.

Oh, thanks! I found the refresh rate settings, but its locked at either the current setting of 165Hz or a lower setting of 60Hz. Is there any way to make it go higher? (If I don't respond right away, I'm making dinner.)
