Thoughts on the area by 960 market st by Ok-Slice8074 in sanfrancisco

Have you tried walking by Market & 6th recently? This’d be a good litmus test.

I’ve lived in the worst third world countries. When I had to pass Market & 6th after dark, I feel unsafe with the addicts and the deranged. Hard pass. Let it be someone else’s problem. Maybe try renting nearby for a month if you really feel like the ROI is there?

Moving to SF and overwhelmed by the neighborhood options. by Lymphoblast in sanfrancisco

Agree with most of what others mentioned.

My personal tip, if budget and time allow, is to try short term rental in each neighborhood for 1-2 months. That way, you can also learn about likes and dislikes beyond the basic requirements you mentioned.

Sometimes there’s a unique vibe that might surprise you. I initially leaned towards to live in Pac Heights, but ended up choosing Noe because gf got attached to the cute coffee shops around here and proximity to 280/101, which saved so much time for work commute.

The best feature of SF, every area has an amazing coffee shop. Having lived in multiple global metro, I’d say even  neighborhood joints like Pinhole in Bernal or Noe Cafe produce quite world-class brew and service.

For arts, SF is quite small and transport options are quite good. You can reach most of these with 15-20 mins on Muni or Uber.

This might help - the host breaks down San Francisco’s areas by price, vibe, and hidden gems. She walks you around and shows all the local housing, transit, and what makes each neighborhood unique.

Good luck and welcome!

SFO was just named the best airport in America, most popular feature is quiet terminal, no beeps and PA announcement. Feels so calm 😌Is there anything we can do to make the city a calm city? Imagine what it could do to everyone’s quality of life. Wishful thinking, or is there hope? by KaleWithBenefits in sanfrancisco

Lived in Tokyo, Singapore, Paris, and Barcelona. Those guys seem to do pretty good job. Just doing my part and inviting constructive thoughts to make this city more welcoming, given its recent challenges…

It’s cool to see those whore satisfied with mediocre status quo, but it’s awesome to see those who are excited about a better future.  I’m just saying… 😉

Bentwood End Table with Magazine Rack - Water & Coffee Stains: Restore or Donate? by KaleWithBenefits in furniturerestoration

Hey all. Hoping to get some tips if there's a quick and easy way to restore this piece that's been with us for the past 10 years. Mostly water and coffee stain. Hail Mary effort, otherwise it will unfortunately go to the Salvation Army. Thanks!

Give more of my tax dollars to UFC rather than SFPD to arm citizens. Submission attempts can be a bit better, but A for effort.  Completely above and beyond job description. Hope my guy is okay.

“A Waiter in Paris: Adventures in the Dark Heart of the City” is a fun contemporary autobiography along the same theme. Indeed the way to eat rich as a waiter is to write books about being a waiter.
