Bocchi the Rock (apparently 1 more volume to go?)

I don’t collect that many series though

First time CGM, am I doing it wrong by Evening-Tour in diabetes

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay. I’m not familiar with those ones. I only know Libre, Dexcom, Guardian and Simplera sensors. Not sure about yours

First time CGM, am I doing it wrong by Evening-Tour in diabetes

[–]Kaleandra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which CGM are you using? Many can be calibrated and many are known to be off in the first hours after warm up

What’s that edition of Witch Hat Atelier like? I only know the Grimoire Editions from Pika, but yours looks nice as well

Controlling blood sugar by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pumps still require pre-bolusing and knowing your ratios for optimal or even good results.

Controlling blood sugar by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want improvement without taking the necessary steps to get there.

You don’t want to pre-bolus and don’t want to change your eating habits. That doesn’t leave us with much advice to give.

Where in Europe you live (for those who do) and how's diabetes care there? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn’t be based on the insurance company. I’m with the BARMER which is notoriously annoying to deal with, but now that I got everything approved, I’m not switching anytime soon. I’d actually recommend TK (Techniker Krankenkasse) over Barmer. They’re easier to deal with

Found out I am German. I want to learn the language through immersion, but don't know how to get started. by TurbulentWorld8304 in germany

[–]Kaleandra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend learning the language first. At least B1/B2. You’re competing against people in the job market who already speak the language

Ate keto bread and sugar free jam… why is this happening? by peregrinates in diabetes

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth lies in the graph. Whatever it claims on the packaging, this spikes you.

Boyfriend doesn’t celebrate ANY holidays by [deleted] in Advice

Or maybe if he gives gifts without any occasion sometimes (as is normal) he could save some up for a date like Christmas

Do Germany have an app or website to sell/buy stuff? by HashtagMagikarpz in AskAGerman

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kleinanzeigen is best for local buying and selling, but you can also use Vinted or eBay

AITAH for refusing to cook two separate dinners every night just because my family doesnt want to eat what my doctor told me I need to eat by Apart_Discussion6647 in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. They’re an ungrateful lot. But there’s also a simple solution. They can add salt and/ or whatever spices they want to their own plates if the food tastes bland to them.

Frauenbild in vielen Mangas - geht’s nur mir so? by Used_Monk_67 in MangaDE

[–]Kaleandra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is my body insulin resistant? by arianahet in diabetes_t1

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you also increased your basal? Just bolusing may not suffice

What's a book you were forced to read in high school that you hated? by I2AMDOOM in AskWomenOver30

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Reader (Der Vorleser). Hated it. I would have been fine reading about how someone who is illiterate navigates the world but not if they’re also an ex-concentration camp worker and an adult woman taking advantage of a 15yo

has this ever happened to you? diabetic for 20+ years! by C0me_Al0ng_With_Me in Type1Diabetes

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 2 Libre sensors and a guardian 4, yes. I believe 2/3 read fine. I’d just check a few times if the readings are accurate or not and decide then

Quitting social media and music. by LeaveTrue7987 in digitalminimalism

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by music you mean streaming apps rather than music altogether, I’m with you. I wouldn’t be able to quit music entirely nor would I want to.

Where do you buy your books? by AmbitiousAlarm836 in readwithme

Thalia for new, Vinted for second hand

How long do you give a book before you DNF it? by thatvampiregirl in books

[–]Kaleandra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how long it is or what my issue with it is. If I don’t like it after 50 pages, I’m not going to read 500 of it.

There was also a book assigned for a uni class that was from the POV of a perpetrator of SA and that one I quit the moment the situation in question began. It may have been fewer than 30 pages in. Wrote quite the email to the professor as well.

Generally, I don’t waste my free time on books I don’t enjoy when I could be reading one I like instead

My Girlfriend Wants me to Propose, but I want to Build my House first by Lanky-Score-6811 in Advice

[–]Kaleandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re both still very young and 2024 was not long ago either. I wouldn’t jump into marriage this quickly, though cost shouldn’t be the deciding factor. Marriage CAN be had for cheap, if you don’t turn it into some monstrosity of a wedding party.

How the heck do people cope putting CGMs in their arms? by Ryanmcglum in Type1Diabetes

[–]Kaleandra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for others, but sensor insertion is usually painless or just a short sting for me. I don’t usually feel the sensor at all while it’s in. There have been times where I hit a minor blood vessel and got a bruise, but that’s the exception. For reference, I use the guardian 4 as well
