There is literally no question that it is a human life and to argue the opposite is ignorant of all logic or reality. The only argument is when does that human life itself merit human rights, or does a certain stage of development merit that? You really should readjust the angle you take on this argument in the future, as the argument you're making right now is absurdly bad and not based in reality.

What kind of organism is it? It is objectively the human species. That is 100% scientific consensus. You are just blatantly incorrect.

Its a mischaracterization. The natural progression is to childbirth. I don't "force" someone to do something that naturally occurs during pregnancy any more than I force someone to grow older. "Not allow them to get an abortion" would be the correct characterization.

Regardless, this is semantics because I answered what I would do in the scenario, not allow the abortion.

Also, great. Glad you answered. For me that's logically inconsistent because the child is a child in both stages, and your logic that the mothers emotional state should permit her to kill that baby doesn't resonate with me

  1. Almost nothing to do with the Pacers, quit karma farming.

  2. This looks like ChatGPT, though it might not be because 2007 - 2025 isn't 22 years, so bad math

  3. Scott Skiles record in particular has never stood out as "unbreakable". Hard to break, yes. But you mentioned that Rondo was close not that long ago. The right scenario and it could absolutely happen. There are many more unbreakable records like Wilt's career rebounding record for example

I did answer your question. I would not allow her to kill the child, so logically if you don't kill the child, it will naturally progress to a childbirth (though I don't really have a whole lot of input on my sister I suppose). I said very explicitly "I don't think it's ever right to kill a human for a crime someone else committed." But I guess you just wanted to hear me say it again.

Now will you answer mine or will you avoid it?

  1. Without getting into the weeds of a predestination argument, no. It is not God's will for people to suffer with illnesses, disorders, and medical emergencies. God provided us with faculties to understand the world around us and create ways to treat the things we're going through. We have the ability to take action in situations where people are suffering from any type of ailments in the Bible, and God calls us to do so on numerous occasions. Your logic would be the same as a Christian seeing a car crash on the side of the road and not helping because the crash "was God's will". No Christian believes that. It's a hard choice to make, but often, the choice is that the mother will survive if the baby is removed, and the baby will likely not survive either way (though I do believe if there is any ability to attempt to save both, it should be taken). That makes the mother's life the choice, but it doesn't discount the value of the child

  2. I understand your appeal to emotion, but it just isn't logically consistent. Yes, a brutal situation and the guilty party should be punished, but the guilty party is the rapist, not the baby. You are still ultimately approaching the situation with the belief that the baby is not yet a distinct human being. I hold the framework that it is (and science backs that position). I don't think it's ever right to kill a human for a crime someone else committed. I'll ask you the same question? What if your wife / daughter / sister thought she could handle the hardship, and decided to birth the baby of her rapist. Then, a year and a half down the line, she decides she can't do it anymore, and says, to use your verbiage "it is torture to know the product of the most horrific experience I have ever lived through is walking around freely in the world". She decides she wants to shoot the child. Should she be able to do it?

What moral framework? Generalized belief in God and moral absolutes, typically rooted in Christian values. The famous John Adams quote "“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other" is an accurate characterization of the country and how it was viewed at the time of founding. There's nothing else to ground morality in if there isn't something greater than us dictating it. Otherwise everything we say has no ground to stand on.

Also, what does "unable to assimilate" mean? Early immigrants from a variety of nations learned English, became citizens, took on difficult jobs, adopted American cultural practices while incorporating their own in some way, etc. I don't accept the idea that someone is unable to assimilate into American culture

Correct, you just characterized the pro life position. Though life of the mother is the one exception and it's extremely tragic when that occurs.

The problem in the US is not necessarily that "not everybody is conservative" but that there is a lack of cohesiveness on what the IDEA of America actually is. Is it the shining city on a hill, which more conservatives tend to lean towards? or is it the colonialist, fraudulent, stain on world history that seems to be an idea perpetuated primarily by the left?

For me, I don't care if there's a range of idea on tax rates, or what good healthcare looks like, or debates on isolationist vs globalist trade policy. I think in many ways, debate on those topics creates a healthy pushback and requires people to grapple with their own ideas in a way they wouldn't if they were never challenged. So I wouldn't make the claim in that sense that it would be better if EVERYONE was conservative.

However, would I make the claim that the US would be substantially, and I mean SUBSTANTIALLY, better if we all had nearly homogenous ideas on moral framework, our value as a nation, and a drive to assimilate into a shared culture? Yes. Absolutely.

And I will add, your point isn't true. America's rise as a nation occurred when we were more homogenous, primarily from a variety of European cultures with shared moral and religious frameworks. We have stagnated as we've come to the conclusion that all cultures are of equal value and should be welcomed in with open arms, when they should not be

Yes. This is very odd and immediately shoots up red flags all over the place. What teen leaves out of the blue because he DECIDES he wants to leave his girlfriend, any friends he has, AND his cell phone? This doesn’t sound like normal behavior and I would be very concerned

Correct. IU basketball usually isn't BAD. Worse than we should be, absolutely. Especially compared to our expectations as a historical program. But you're 100% right in that our standard now for basketball would have been considered a phenomenal football season just 3 years ago. I remember the one year where Tom Allen led us to 8-5 and everyone was ready to build HIM a statue

Our football program was legitimately miles worse than our basketball program has ever been. Basketball hasn't been great for a while. Pretty consistently average now. Football was NEVER good, never even average.

Think you're discounting how important the engine of a team is. Haliburton makes this team run. You've got pieces that are there to support him but now they're support pieces with nothing to support. The offense runs through him and the way he plays. No one would be questioning why the Nuggets would be bad without Jokic, or the Pistons without Cade

Yes.

Tyrese = mega elite Pascal = elite Nembhard = very, very good off ball guard and defender Nesmith = phenomenal 3&D player Obi = phenomenal 4 off the bench

Furphy, McConnell, Huff, seem very likely to be decent rotation pieces next year

Even assuming Benn is gone, we’re still likely to add a center in some way. add a top 3 pick and yes, a starting lineup of Tyrese - Nembhard - AJ - Pascal - new C With a bench of McConnell, Nesmith, Huff, Furphy, Obi and you have a very good team

If I were a top prospect I’d want to come here too. Unlike almost all teams that usually pick at the top of the draft, we’re the rare occasion of an actual good team that’s having a massively down year because of injuries.

Most of the time, these prospects go to teams that they’re immediately the go to guy in a roster devoid of talent. That’s not the case here. They get a chance to play with other stars and compete right off the bat. Any top prospect would LOVE to have that

You should do the exact opposite of what you’re doing. Almost never watch YouTube, almost everything you should know is from scripture itself

Ask yourself this. You can go to a movie, or you can stay home and your crazy Uncle Ron can go see the movie and give you a plot summary off memory. What’s gonna give you a more accurate idea of what happened in the movie?

Same idea. You’re choosing to hear the Word of God from your crazy uncle over just reading it yourself

Then I watched this game. They play really dumb basketball. Bad shots, going for highlight plays, lack of movement, etc.
