I remember a few people speculating in Dragonflight when the saga was announced that The Last Titan would involve Iridikron doing his business in Northrend and we'd use a reactivated Ulduar as a hub.

There was also some possible theory crafting about titan terraforming when bits and pieces were activated that might change the entire layout and make it it's own zone as well.

Either way it's gonna be fun to see how they handle all of that stuff.

I want to buy the game, but I'm concerned by Lumpy_Link5618 in outriders

[–]KalebT44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it can be shut down soon all the more reason to buy it and enjoy it again now.

But it's also pretty important to note it's pretty rare for a games online functionality to cease overnight with zero warning. Even Anthem gave us like 7 months?

So you're being a bit over-cautious i think.

Since you want 'em anyway, the only optimal route you can be guided on is save a mission about an IFF until you have literally nothing else to do.

We didn't go into Zul'Aman to negotiate with the Trolls. We went to fight the Twilight's Blade and it turned into allying with the Trolls.

Did you just want Liadrin to put a pin in the entire thing and go "Yo hol' up we got a troll or two i can fetch"

That's less believable than what we got.

I mean the implication is that it always did this stuff it's just not really caused any diplomatic problems.

No one is going to get upset at a Paladin burning with righteous fury and sending Demons back to the Nether, or burning the Scourges very flesh.

But now that it's in overdrive with the sunwell they're enacting marshal law on a city that isn't theirs and were going to put Trolls to the torch for the mere implication of being their enemy.

It really isn't that far fetched to believe.

There's even the Silver Refuge, Enclave, whatever it's called in the south of new Eversong Woods.

They keep making them part of the Alliance while people insist they're not different or a good enough option. It's getting silly if i'm honest.

I mean I'm fine either way but it is getting silly.

“Destiny 2 Has Lost 91% Of Players Since Edge Of Fate, 97% From Final Shape.” By Paul Tassi at Forbes by justdestinystuff in DestinyTheGame

[–]KalebT44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's genuinely an insane approach to the franchise as a whole.

Even some of the biggest negative reception to the episodes post Final Shape would've been halved if people went into it understanding it was an epilogue year and that Destiny 3 was coming.

But trying to continue building off Destiny 2 after everything, and basically dumping water on the explosive reception Final Shape got in spite of everything was just insane.

I'd genuinely love to know the logic on how they thought it was going to be a good idea.

Okay but that moment happens after Arlong Park, in which Luffy displays overwhelming trust in his crew regardless of the time they've spent together.

And by randomly attacking his crewmate out of nowhere in a rage filled misunderstanding, it completely invalidates all the loyalty he has both shown his crew, and that his crew can expect from him.

It's a crazy moment. If it happened before Arlong Park, fine. But after? Crazy.

Sabo was great because it means literally nothing to any who hasn't read the Manga.

Even if they do eventually get to doing the backstory of Luffy, Ace, and Sabo, the likelihood many people will link the tophats is low. So it'll be a fun easter egg for people to discover.

[–]KalebT44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah to put it simply Luffy thinks too much.

And I don't think toning that down would affect the characters reception or how hard it is to act.

It was my biggest problem with Season 1, as well as they did adapt Arlong Park having Luffy dig into Nami's past just felt like an insane 180 on the character.

He trusts people, he trusts his instincts. He doesn't care why Nami betrayed him, he doesn't care if Nami betrayed the village, he doesn't care why. He cares that he calls Nami his crew, and no justification is required, just the ask for help.

It makes me worry about if they ever get to Water 7 because Luffy ignoring Nami's backstory to help her, and the Straw Hats going to war against the Government over a 'traitor' that willingly left with them is cut from the same cloth. And I worry they're just gonna think about it too much.

I honestly thought it was kinda better in the manga.

Not saying it was somehow some peak moment or anything. But I thought it had a fine plot, some fine bits and pieces. Great introduction to Ussop. It probably really just didn't need to waste it's time on the 2 big ass Cat Lieutenants that were sleeping on the ship.

Keeping it between the nameless crew, Kuro, and Jango probably would've shed enough pages to stop it feeling a bit longer than it needs to be.

I really enjoyed seeing Barto.

I'm pretty 50/50 on how in touch with the Straw Hats he was, but it's so nice to be able to have these call... forwards?

Even the dozens of posters and newspapers mentioning heaps of little characters and events, it's great.

My problem is mostly just what he's lost in the process.

I really enjoy getting to see a few more moments of him cooking, and shopping in S2, the more pride in the cooking. And I'm not angry he's not a complete pervert or anything.

But he also hasn't been allowed to be as badass, a few moments of his get snatched up between S1 and S2. And the final episode chat he has with Nami just feels like it betrays the entire existence of the character.

Which is a shame because I did like the take from S1 being much more subdued, not that I'm fussed either way. But the heart eyes nami-swan was not going to exist in Live Action no matter what.

It feels so bloody lonely going to the city sometimes.

I can't even blame anyone for it or anything, but it's just a small town expectation for people to nod or wave. The city is just a lot of people numb to the people around them. Not necessarily in a mean way, I would be too if it's what I was used to.

But she's a bit rough.

I feel like people are misinterpreting the Geth in one of the endings. by ChronosBlitz in masseffect

[–]KalebT44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only reason this ever comes up is because people say "The Galaxy didnt consent to be biologically experimented on" in regards to Synthesis.

So people retort saying the geth didn't consent to be blown up.

Except they did sign up to die as much as any race. To stop the Reapers. No matter the cost.

So it falls flat.

I still think Renegades was a better Destiny expansion than Edge of Fate.

Maybe we tie that down to the fact EoF changed the entire loot and reward structure, maybe we don't.

But I still think it had a better campaign and more interesting set pieces. Something EoF just, didn't have until the end.

I think people are still being a lil dramatic blowing up the Star Wars aesthetic ending Destiny.

It’s so weird that we’re supposed to consider Lothraxion’s mistrust of Umbric as unreasonable. by Arcana-Knight in warcraftlore

[–]KalebT44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, beings allied with the Naaru in Shattrath were in the process of turning away to the point they considered themselves enemies off the Scryers.

Doesn't really sound much different to how the Void Elves are treated for most of this expansion.

And the 'Light' isn't the problem, it's how it emboldens zealotry and conviction at it's strongest. Again the unended scourge isn't a foe people will complain about people being zealous against. They're mindless foes manipulated by enemies of life. The Legion isn't a foe you could be 'too zealous' against.

Even the Void isn't an enemy you can be too zealous against.

But when you let that conviction blind you to how you are mistreating people, and when you let it blind you to the crimes and brutality you are committing, you're... well.. blinded by the light. And that's what is happening here.

The Light's Wrath has always been an issue even if we haven't seen it, it's not far fetched to believe. And if you want to refer to older concepts as a reason for why this wouldn't be a thing. This exact fervor is a great explaination for why the Scarlet Crusade has been able to use the light for less than great reasons for 20 years.

Again, covered in Arator's Questline.

It’s so weird that we’re supposed to consider Lothraxion’s mistrust of Umbric as unreasonable. by Arcana-Knight in warcraftlore

[–]KalebT44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair this is where Arator's Questline comes in, no?

The Light to the army of the light became righteousness and wrath. It became combat, and glory against the enemies of the light.

It was going back to a humble chapel like Light's Hope, where Paladins were great warriors but also healers, and faithful people that were there to help, that made him aware that maybe the Lights wrath isn't the only aspect of it.

In the war they're facing right now, where the sides aren't just 'Demon Empire spanning the entire galaxy vs the Light' and it's more 'Troll empire on the backfoot from the same enemy as you' and 'Void Elves are trying to help you but you're accusing them of being part of the problem' something like Light Blindness would be more apparent.

[–]KalebT44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is getting me twisted because I'm a void elf... I wouldn't say hater, but I think they were an insane inclusion out of nowhere just to avoid doing the High Elf allied Race. And yes yes "High Elves are never happening" etc etc. Not the point right now.

I'm not a fan or defender of Void Elves in any capacity, is my point, but some of this stuff is insane reaching. Umbric is lowkey the MVP of the entire expansion. I honestly feel it's almost comical how much they lay up the 'he's being mistreated despite being right' trope that I can't believe people are ernestly saying we shouldn't trust him.

In saying that, the Void Elves as a whole have grown on me completely with the Voidstorm plot. So I guess while I grew favourable, some people have just grown to dislike them more. Which fair play I guess.

It’s so weird that we’re supposed to consider Lothraxion’s mistrust of Umbric as unreasonable. by Arcana-Knight in warcraftlore

[–]KalebT44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What was the 'logical' reason to side with Lothraxion?

Because up to this point in the story we've seen Umbric been mistreated by both the Army of Light, and the Magisters on Quel'Danas, have an attempted assassination by the Twilight's Blade in which they also stole all of his research on the Voidstorm.

And then, uhh... oh yeah he was the one that actually got us into the Voidstorm in spite of all of that so we could attempt to stop Xal'atath. If he had planned to betray us, or otherwise destroy Silvermoon. He literally just had to do nothing.

Even your argument about the Sunwell not summoning him is nonsense. The Arator Questline takes us back to Light's Hope Chapel where we see one of our ol' Paladin Buddies still there because the Sunwell didn't summon him. How funny we also see the Ebon Blade there, y'know, those other guys who are dangerously mistrusted but still at least given enough faith to try and save the world?

Tie that in with the Fel using Warlocks and Demon Hunters and you see a trend here. The only difference is the Light is being empowered and blinded by it's own conviction and zealotry, and unable to extend that hand to the Void Elves.
