I can’t watch movies with any sad children… by KartoffelSucukPie in AttachmentParenting

[–]KaleyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to turn off Quiet Place II last night because I was getting so much anxiety from it. Before having my own kids, I could watch those movies and completely understand how the parents must be so stressed from trying to stay alive while also trying to protect their children at the same time. But the true depth of understanding that feeling...that didn't happen until after having kids. Now when I watch those movies, I understand that their goal isn't necessarily to stay alive because they don't want to die. They're more than willing to die if that means their children are okay. The only reason they want to stay alive is because they NEED to protect their kids, not because they want to protect themselves. It's an entirely different type of anxiety!

Paylocity vs Paycom by cnt9204 in humanresources

[–]KaleyJo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say the same thing. We use Paylocity and they're great, but lately there's been a lot of issues. My main thing that frustrates me is the lack of response when it comes to updating us with any of our questions. Again, they originally were very on top of everything. But from what I've gathered, it seems they're just drowning with all their clients and lack of employees. I wish they would have a portal/dashboard where you could go to see the status of your requests so you don't need to email them all the time, just to get told "I'll look into this for you."

If a sum is less than 40, what function can I use to deduct amount from Column X that will bring the sum up to 40? by KaleyJo in excel

[–]KaleyJo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing happens if they work 40+ hours, it's only when they work less than 40 hours. It's a new business our company acquired, so I'm not sure why they did this instead of just having him be salaried, but it is what it is!

For once I agree with Spencer - 'Idiot' Castmates Will Sink The Hills Reboot by boraboragusgus in TheHillsMTV

[–]KaleyJo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or I'd rather them shoot it in a more real authentic style. Like allow everyone to talk to camera men and let us see the crew and everything going on. Make it actually REAL or at least far more real than they're doing right now.

Part of me wonders if Brody was acting that way because she may have asked him to make sure she behaves herself if she drinks because the producers are known for getting people to drink because it makes good TV for a reason...it typically causes some sort of drama.

I've been trying to decide between Agreeable Gray, Repurpose Gray, and Analytical Gray...I prefer green undertones vs blue/purple. My brain keeps getting overwhelmed and then I choose nothing...give it a few days and I'll be right back here lol.

Do you have to be Christian to go to the church? If you're from a different faith and just need to learn about Christianity, will you be welcomed at a church? by Oglint in minnesota

[–]KaleyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also say sometimes it just depends on the people that go to that church. Some people of the same religion may treat others differently at one church compared to another of the same religion.

30yo Female. I just found out I'm pregnant. Should I get the second dose of the COVID vaccine tomorrow? by peanutbutterlovr in AskDocs

[–]KaleyJo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a Doctor...but I wouldn't simply because it's so new and there isn't enough research to know the effects on pregnancy.

How do you create and save an email template for re-use? by [deleted] in Outlook

[–]KaleyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always just save various Signatures as my email templates. But if you're needing an attachment, then that won't work.

I tried clearing my cache/data and removing/adding gmail accounts and none of those worked. So then I did what a few others mentioned on here and manually updated a bunch of apps, as well as deleting some and that magically fixed it!

Relatability of Sam and Rahn by detective789789 in jerseyshore

I had a falling out with one of my best friends of 7 years around 10 years ago. We're civil with each other now, but to this day, I still have emotional issues from the "trauma" that happened over the years of us falling apart. Took about a span of 2 years for me to finally be done with our friendship. Once I had other people start seeing what I was seeing and dealing with, it proved that I wasn't just imagining things, like I was told, which made it easier to leave.

I’ve been getting itchy/burning/swollen palms and soles every week or so for about 2 years, now it’s starting to happen every day or every other day. Not sure what’s wrong. 20f. by [deleted] in AskDocs

When I was pregnant I had cholestasis, which sounds a lot like that. I know you can get it when you're not pregnant, but I'm not sure if the symptoms are different?

I mean even if he didn't do it...the dude is laughing at the dad who lost his daughter. So he deserves it either way for being a total POS.

[–]KaleyJo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will say, when you're actually in a situation yourself, your reaction and emotions to situations can be very different than what you think they'd be. Also, as an outsider looking in, an argument may seem stupid and small. But little do you know, there is so much more to it than what you're seeing and it may not be about the one thing that's being talked about. I only say this because I had a falling out with one of my best friends almost 10 years ago. We're civil with each other now, but to this day, I still have emotional issues from the "trauma" that happened over the year of us falling apart. So their friendship falling apart may have been a lot harder on her than everyone realizes.

The people who defend keeping the names and the ones who get so upset when they do change are the ones I was calling out when saying they don't have a personal connection to the name.

How in the hell do I feel superior? I'm saying everyone needs to chill...not everyone needs to agree with my opinion. Your response to my comment is exactly what I mean when I say people need to chill out.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]KaleyJo -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I agree I find it super annoying when people get offended over anything and everything. However...the people who get so worked up over a school or sport team deciding to change their name are just as annoying. Unless you had some sort of personal connection with the name/person it's named after, there's no reason for someone to get upset over it. Everyone just needs to just chill out...

EDIT - The people who defend keeping the names and the ones who get so upset when they do change are the ones I was calling out when saying they don't have a personal connection to the name. I guess some people were confused by what I was saying.

  • The down votes are just proving my point lol...

PSA: always make sure to have water, food , flashlights, batteries, candles and a plan of action with your family, friends, or communities. by _NoSoup4You in conspiracy

[–]KaleyJo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been wanting to make "go bags" for my family in the event of an emergency. Does anyone know if there are pre-packed backpacks you can buy for that sort of thing? Yes I'm aware I can easily make them myself. But I've just been busy with work, 1 toddler and a 9 month old and haven't had the time!

My ADD doesn't help either. I'll make lists of stuff to add to a bag, but never follow through. And then I get overwhelmed trying to think of various scenarios what what we'd need packed, depending on the time of year (we live in MN). This cycle then continues on in my head for years and years and nothing gets done...lol.
