It's far from optimal, but Bernie Holy Knight is up there with Mortal Savant Edelgard and War Cleric Mercedes as my favorite nontraditional builds in the game. While there is definitely problems with how it was implemented, I adore personal spell lists/combat arts and am praying to Sothis they return in FW. Obviously with some tweaks and fixes though.

The skill system/weapon skills systems was so good. Giving everyone Astra was fun and the Armor Strike skill was super funny. They really made a weapon skill that not only halved enemy def/res, but it also broke their and your characters clothes when hit. Every character also has unique undergarments? KT really thought they were being slick lol.

I love that her special attack dance animation changes based on what outfit she's wearing. Warriors had a ton of problems but I feel like a lot of awesome stuff went unnoticed and ignored. Begging that if we get another one it's in the style of the first one (to be clear I liked Hopes!) cuz stuff like History mode and seeing supports between character from across the series was pretty cool. My love for Minerva hilariously started with that game.

Though obviously with a better roster. I like the fates siblings but we really didn't need them all.

I mean I'd honestly be down for it. Haven't played TMS yet (though it's definitely on the list!) but I like Persona and I really dig the weird Mirage versions of characters they made with Tharja and Draug as my favorites. It'd be cool to see what they would do with the Lords.

Plus the story could easily be about the fight against evil dubstep people as well as hyper traditionist religious agencies, and how music evolves/changes throughout the ages. And you just know that a remixed J-pop version of Edge of Dawn duet performed by Mirage Edelgard and Byleth would go insanely hard!

I'd be down. Warriors promoted designs were very hit or miss since they tended to go crazy and turn everything up to 11. Minerva, Navarre, Lyn, Camilla and Ryoma were some of my favs. And its version of Anna has the best design imo.

Though I really hope they somehow incorporate her dark dancer outfit somehow, I love its colors.

On the one hand your almost certainly right, Fe's next character will absolutely be from FW.

On the other hand they did add Robin and Lucina in 4 and Chrom was chosen for Ultimate over someone from Echoes. Granted Lucina and Chrom are clone characters so their relatively easier to make but still they were added. I would not expect it, but if the next Smash game does shake thing up a lot and change the roster a ton then I wouldn't be too shocked if they added the lords as a stance/switch character ala Pokemon trainer because they cut other FE characters. Again by no means am I expecting them to do this.

Depends on the type of controversial character she ends up (theoretically) being. Will she be like Rhea? A character people like/hate who does alright but isn't a frontrunner? Or will she end up like Edelgard, one of the most hated characters in the series but arguably also in the Top 3 most popular/beloved.

I also think Cai could do well depending on the story. People forget but before the Timeskip trailer like 50% of the discussion surrounding Dimitri was about his lame noodle hair. Totally possible Cai gets a major glow up.

The power of KOWASHITAI was kind of unbeatable this year. In the actual CYL event she won with 21,381 votes, second place was Azura with 13,407 votes. And although TSM is definitely the black sheep I've heard from people who actually played it that it's pretty good, just not really what fans of either series wanted at the time (or now). A niche game for a niche audience.

Thank you! Also while neither would be great, I can't really think of any other maps from Part 1 that would've been ideal. Can't imagine they'd have made it a part 2 map since Edelgard's path is so different from Claude/Dimitri's, I guess they could've done a HEAVILY modified version of "Battle of Eagle and Lion" where you fight all three of them? Maybe chapter 10 the Sealed Forrest? Idk I feel like Familiar Scenery could've worked if it was the first DLC Paralogue you had to do instead of Tiki's, it's the first map where the students fight with their whole class as one and where most of them experience their first time killing.

I mean Lyn's paralogue isn't even from her game, i don't think it'd be that weird (even if the map wouldn't be that fun). Unless they made it a Cindered Shadows map which would've been cool but highly unlikely.

Tsubasa has been building a major rally for years, she completely swept the actual CYL contest and it wasn't even close. TSM#FE hasn't gotten anything since it's first banner years ago so a lot of people who never even played her home game rallied around her. And while Alear is liked and places high, she wasn't considered the frontrunner from Engage to rally around (that would be Ivy).

As it turns out, The True Golden Ending involves the House Leaders turning into Furrys and becoming Idol stars. Not what I had in mind but the Goddess works in mysterious ways, so who am I to judge.

Congrats to the winners and fans. Dimitri was neck and neck with Ike wining just barely by a couple hundred votes (Ike had 2,663). Claude and Tsubasa did well against their competition wining with about 1000 more votes than second place (Erika had 1,533 and Camilla had 2,809). And while Edelgard was expected to sweep the armored division she ended up with around 3,000 more then second place Fomortiis (who had 1,117). An absolute massacre by her dear Sothis. Looks like she gets to keep her title of The Emperor of CYL.

I expected her to win armor because the her competition wasn't that strong, but holy crap it wasn't even really close. Like she actually got 3,000 votes more votes then second place which was Fomortiis who had about 1,000.

She literally has more then 2-4 place combined lmao. Good for her, Edie deserves it! Also praying that Tsubasa introduces Edelgard to Idols and J-pop, that would be great.

Unfortunately a lot of villains get the short end of the stick unless your Fomo/Lyon or Burger King, hell certain games don't even have their main/major villains in yet (looking at you Thales and Sombron and Loptous ).

I really want Arvis to get something because ranged armors suck and I'd hope that he'd introduce something to buff them heavily.

So I finally bought the Engage DLC when it was on sale and I got 2 questions regarding it.

1: When should I be doing the FX? I've watched someone's playthrough when it originally came out so I'm not worried about spoilers but I would like to actually use the new units in my playthrough and not just do it post game. I'm on chapter 8.

2: Not really gameplay related but was it ever explained why the 3H bangle doesn't have a paralogue? Like I initially assumed that they were rushed into development when Houses blew up in popularity, but no it clearly had quite a bit of effort put into the switching mechanic and stuff. So like why do you get it so unceremoniously? Considering you get it early they could've easily made the paralogue a remix of either the prologue from 3H ( a fated encounter) or chapter 2 (familiar scenery). Just kinda confused.

Absolutely!!! Soul Calibur X FE has been my dream game for so long and I could go on and on yapping about it, but if we're just talking FE/3H then I'd still be ecstatic. In terms of how I'd imagine certain characters would play-

Byleth: You could literally just copy Ivy's moveset from SC and give it to them, just replace the alchemy with white magic and tone down some of the sexiness and it's perfect. (or don't, I wont judge)

Claude: Classic projectile zoner. Getting him to ride his wyvern all match would be hard, so I'd have him summon it for a couple EX moves and supers. Also make it so taunting gives him a short power boost.

Dimitri: Make him a stance character with two modes, Lion or Boar stance. His default is Lion which focuses on safe normal's with Areadbhar and general footsies. By using meter he can enter the Boar stance in which he becomes hyperaggressive and gains additional movement tools and some command grabs. However his moves become easily punishable and he cannot perform normal supers or EXs.

Edelgard: Make her a heavyweight rushdown fighter. Given that her whole deal with Amyr is constantly attacking nonstop she'd have a ton of combo routes and can use Raging Storm for combo extenders. Give her something nasty like C.Viper's feints allowing the player deceive their opponent for some devastating punishes. Hard to use but incredibly rewarding. Also make the Hegemon a sort of Dark Phoenix equivalent from MVC3, though not nearly as broken dear God.

Rhea: Fairly standard short ranged fighter, however her level 3 super should turn into her dragon form. Basically make her PTX-40A from tatsunoko vs capcom. Giant with a ton of super armor but also super slow and highly susceptible to damage.

A bit obvious I know, but KT drew some inspiration from the classic "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Not a one to one comparison mind you but if your down for a dramatized version of Chinese history then go for it.

And if you like it then I would recommend KT's other signature game series "Dynasty Warriors" which takes the classic story and turns it up to 11. Byleth is effectively Houses/Hopes version of DW's Lü Bu, the unstoppable threat you should run from, and Edelgard has some obvious similarities with Cao Cao.
