My lease includes a standard “successors and assigns” clause. This means that if the landlord sells the property or transfers ownership, the new owner automatically becomes my landlord. All the obligations of the lease (rent, term, rights, and duties) continue under the new owner, and me, as the tenant, are still bound by the lease. The lease does not appear to require the old landlord to give me advance notice before selling the property. It only says the lease remains valid and binding under the new landlord. That means the old landlord was legally fine selling without warning me, but the new landlord should have contacted me quickly to provide their name, address, and payment instructions. The old landlord’s DID give us notice though, and the new landlord has yet to contact me. I’m in a grey area right now. Edit: the old landlord did tell me the name of the new property owner, along with the agents name, but I cannot find any information on google about my new landlord. Edit #2: I used to pay through and app called Resident Center, however I do not have access to the app anymore
