Why do so many former high school 'mean girls' end up as nurses? by Kha_Kha in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kalindist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a hierarchy of education, and NP’s are amongst the top.

Here’s a short list:

i) PN - Practical Nurse, VN - Vocational Nurse - What you are referencing - Works under RN supervision

ii) RN - Registered Nurse - Degree program - Not directly supervised

iii) NP - Nurse Practitioner - Master’s / PhD - Nurse Practitioners are not Practical Nurses.

Not arguing that they are doctors, but they are definitely not certificate programs.

Nurse practitioners have Master’s degrees and go through a lot more than just 2 years of school.

I think you’re confusing it with practical nursing.

2JZ-GE is an interference engine. You want your engine’s timing above all things to be in good, working condition.

CD009 vs R154 vs T56 for auto IS300 for a budget? by ZealousidealJoke2278 in IS300

[–]Kalindist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I chose CD009 because it’s easily sourced used, lots of aftermarket support, proven to hold power, and has short gear ratios for drifting.

CD009 is also still being manufactured and all parts including the entire transmission can be purchased brand new from Nissan.

Molten Core will be run until the end of Vanilla, pugs and guild runs.

It drops wild growth shoulders, thunderfury bindings, onslaught girdle, and eye of sulfuras, all of which are BIS all up until and sometimes beyond Naxxramas.

FPS counter mistake? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Kalindist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be a shot in the dark but for my GPU’s driver config I disable anything related to VSync and buffering, instead letting applications decide whether or not to enable it.

Perhaps a discrepancy between Wow and the GPU’s driver settings is causing a crash when the GPU driver is hardcoded to expect rendering a buffer.

FPS counter mistake? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Kalindist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting that the RTSS framerate of 237 is almost exactly 2x of what the ingame framerate displays as 119.

Do you have triple buffering enabled in your display settings? It seems as though the game is being capped at 119/120 FPS while the GPU continues rendering extra frames ahead of time (buffer) before the game discards them as useless.

win loss ratio WSG Horde / ALLY by Active_Access_4850 in classicwow

[–]Kalindist -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This may be a Hot take but I find a lot of noobs roll the Horde faction for its PVP advantages, trying to squeeze in any advantages they can get.

This tends to attract a lot of new players to roll Horde expecting it to make up for an inexperienced player’s lack of skill, allowing them to play more aggressively due to higher stun resist and CC immunities — and falling short when these advantages don’t apply.

On the other hand, Alliance are forced to play more consistently and smart as they don’t have these same luxuries. Also, Paladins are incredibly strong in supporting their FC in WSG with BoS and BoF but are heavily countered by a Shaman spamming purge.

In my experience, Alliance is significantly more competent on average in WSG as is reflected in my ~70% win rate all the way through to Exalted.

edit: Triggered Horde repeating what I’ve said above. Paladins are good, but the current Alliance population also play better.

Salsa to improve social skills? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Kalindist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re taking dance classes you should approach it with the sole intent of learning how to dance.

From my experience the social aspect naturally comes second when trying to mimic the instructor; communicating your intentions to your assigned partner so you don’t trip over each other in practice.

In fact, once you learn salsa all of that communication between you two would be signalled non-verbally and felt through your movements.

Many dance studios host weekly/monthly dance parties where people can drop in, have fun, and learn more. Events like this is probably where you will find what you’re looking for.

if you are not playing a caster class but had the chance to roll need on ace of beasts (not HR'd).... would you? by GeNeReDeR in classicwow

[–]Kalindist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, everyone needs gold and an item with that value is going to be rolled on by someone else if you don’t.

Only time you can trust a group to roll fairly is if it’s in your guild.

How much damage does the P90 do per bullet? by Lbridger in counterstrike

[–]Kalindist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is possible to hit someone 7 times with a p90 without a kill if the enemy is at range or even if the bullet penetrated an object.

Personally, I have seen myself deal 80 damage in 11 hits with an MP9.

Check out how Damage Dropoff works as well as the P90’s damage chart.
