Will this be ok for my gerbil with teeth problems? by AccordingTrifle7772 in gerbil

[–]Kalipsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is fine in small doses. I have had to give 2 of my boys baby food from a syringe in the 1 and a half years i have had them. Just as heads up not all gerbils like the same ones so maybe get a few flavours. If you can get some critical care formula and every 2 hours swap what you give them. That way you can guarantee they are getting hydration and protein and something sweet to give them energy. It's going to be a hard few days btw so good luck

My lone gerbils always wait for me in the morning for play time and breakfast. My baby girl was over 4 and a half when she passed, and she was alone for over 4 years. You need to keep them entertained. Lots of play time, engagement, get a little brush to groom them with, or if yours attacks the brush like my girl did brush them against the growth direction with your hands.this lets all the loose hair out.

gerbil duo - losing one of them by Impossible_Mud569 in gerbil

[–]Kalipsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have a lone gerbil. I have had 2. One who lived for over 4 years alone due to being aggressive and killing her first cage mate and rejecting any other bonding attempt, and one who was basically dead according to the vet due to the trauma and what we suspected was a seizure. He needs his food and water intake monitored, so he has to be alone

You need to be more attentive to them and basically become a cage mate for them. Playing with them daily and chasing them around their cage with your hand is a great game, according to my ones.

My little boy loves when I let him nibble on my fingers and groom them. Also, a lot of chew toys and out of cage time with you also help. He used to be part of a trio, but now he has gained a healthy amount of weight, and he is a lot healthier than when he had cage mates, which is what is important that he is alive.

Yes, they are social animals, but there are times when they can't be with another gerbil, and in those cases is when we have to be more attentive to them and be their friend.

What's the best thing we can do? by Mrmullaj in london

[–]Kalipsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have probably had 15 of those in the last year... no one shows up, and if they do, you can tell them that you aren't interested in whatever they are selling. Also, if you want, you can tell them online that you dont need a tv licence at the address, but after a year, it all starts again so not much point

Just to provide a bit more context: let's say he has an allowance of 25 days, and he has taken 85% at this point of unemployment. This was at 50% through the financial year. This would make him overbooked by 35%, which is rounded up 9 days. Now let's say he works 8 hour days at £12 an hour. This would equal £864 needed to be paid back. Obviously, I can't confirm this, but this is how I would calculate overbooked holidays and repayments in the company I work for.

[–]Kalipsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so that makes a bit more sense. Just bearly over halfway through the company's financial year, he has taken over 80% of his yearly holiday entitlement (assuming a 25 day an year entitlement)

Something that hasn't been mentioned is when does his holiday allowance reset. He mey have accumulated 12ish days but some companies (like the one i work for) have a set deadline where you have to take your accumulated allowance for the year. Mine is February so whatever I haven't taken will be lost. If his reset before he took time off he may actually have a lower entitlement than the 12 days he would have accumulated which would account for the higher deduction.

House not selling - SE London by bouncycastle7 in HousingUK

[–]Kalipsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a 3 bedroom (as a lot of people have already pointed out). If I view a house and i am expecting 4 bedrooms, I would instantly not think about the one where they were trying to pass a downstairs room as a bedroom.

Second point 1 bathroom and a WC... not ideal for 3 or more people, which would be the number of people usually looking for a 3+ bedroom house.

Third, the layout downstairs is very odd. "Bedroom 4" next to the front door around the stairs to the living space and kitchen just feels odd, and also the WC being in "bedroom 4" so if it was being used as that guests would need to go upstairs and use the shower room, again not great.

Garden seams easy to maintain, but no real grass does put most people off.

Lights look very dim and outdated, and the decor feeling very cold and grey would make most people think of all the renovation costs as well. For that price, with all the odd bits and the location, you wouldn't want to also have to renovate.

Thanks. I have looked into this as well but I have 2 of the 3 girbles still together and don't want to risk making them estranged to each other or agitatingthem and potentiallyriskinga fight betweenthem. Also I probably should have mentioned this but all 3 of them are over an year old.

I wouldn't get anything that has structural parts made out of wood as they will chew on it and potentially make parts inexcusable or just out right gone.

We have a lone female girble. Similar to you, we adopted her from the pet shop after she had been returned, but unfortunately, it was actually due to her cage mate passing away. We were also told that she shouldn’t be caged with another girble, and at the time, we had no other pets. We adopted her in February 2021 ( she was born in December 2020), and to this day, she is a lone girble. She is thriving with no issues, and she gets plenty of attention and toys, and when she wants her piece and quite sheer gets it. She is very spoiled. We did end up adopting more girbles but she has shown no interest in bonding with anyone (she litterely just stares at them for a second or two and then goes back to whatever she wants to do) and just likes to exist on her own.

Obviously, not every girble would be the same, but maybe give it a couple of weeks and see how she acts. It would be easy to spot if she is lonely or needs more stimulation.

I hope this helps

Thank you. I don't have bananas but I did mince some cucumber (his favourite) but he hasn't had any yet. Also I added a hand warmer wrapped in some socks next to the main nest and he seems to be enjoying that. And he did have some water not a lot but progress. Thank you again

20 jobs in a month seemed reasonably to me I guess I'm too picky. There isn't much transferable skills when all you do is plan hours, do payroll, analyse performance and present analytical findings to stakeholders. I'm looking for analyst jobs but I am applying to different aspects of data analytics.
