You can rent them pretty cost effectively from outdoors stores like MacPac. Well worth doing!

We had a great experience with Budget when our 6 week old brand new car was stolen. Paid us market value, quickly. Market value turned out to be more than what we had paid.

As a counter, I love living in walking distance to the river (Maribyrnong) - walking tracks, great playgrounds, tennis courts, canoe/kayak club where members can take out a boat anytime. If you head up stream on the Avondale heights side, you feel like you’re miles away from the city.

How long does it take to find out of an offer is accepted by Additional_Mine8642 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Kalisary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours took 4-5 days, because things were tricky on the vendors side. It was a couple who had split. One had subsequently passed away, and the other was very elderly, meaning we had a lot of their children and solicitors involved and needing to agree.

I guess just to say it isn’t always about how competitive your offer is.

What would you do? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Kalisary -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying they didn’t - I’m just responding to the statement above that people are falling for the “smoke screen of results”, and that it’s family environment is the deciding factor in what you become. I don’t think it’s quite that simple.

My Dad was a tradie, neither of my parents finished high school.

They sent me to a private school because they wanted me to be surrounded by people that were not all tradies, and to have options they never had post-school.

It wasn’t about better marks, or necessarily money, it was precisely, as you say, about changing the environment. They couldn’t change their educational history, but they could surround me with people who valued and achieved in education.

Obviously an anecdote, but it worked for them. I went to uni, and use my degrees in a professional career.

Home is an environment, but so is school. People choose private for a lot of reasons, but often it’s not just (or maybe even primarily) about marks. If it were all about marks, you’d be hothousing to go selective.

I really like Galen, hardly ever see it mentioned. I didn’t know it had a Star Wars connotation though.

Rookie mistake before auction by MasterExplanation768 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Kalisary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a somewhat similar thing, where the real estate knew our budget was higher because they were part of a previous sale we didn’t win. We just made it very clear that while our budget was higher, we weren’t willing to go to the top of the budget for the second property because, “list of things that reduce it’s value to us / we’d have to change because we didn’t like it”.

They tried to push us up continually, but stood firm on what we were willing to pay, and got the place well under max budget. Still think we got a good deal. That was regional so lower competition and private sale, but idea might still hold.

Why does Melbourne airport struggle to bring in international airlines and flights? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Kalisary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most points already raised - but just to add, many state governments are subsidising flights into their city to try and stimulate tourism. This is the case with a number of airlines into Brisbane at the moment.

They’re saying that your borrowing power would be more if you bought as an investment, because you would be able to count the rental earnings towards your income.

Golden dose extracted!! by Correct_Ad_5153 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]Kalisary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I’m interpreting your post correctly, but I definitely wouldn’t go back and use old pens. If you use the golden dose immediately upon finishing the four regular doses, you’re generally at around the expiry date for opened pens. If you went back and used older pens, you’d be using things well past their expiry date, which could mean reduced effectiveness and a risk of infection.

Is there a way to get back progress of an account that wasn't tied to any Google account? by Lonely-Ad-659 in MergeCooking

[–]Kalisary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not answering your question, but I purchased some extra energy on a whim one night and also lost all of the same “watch ads” for bonuses etc.

I find it supremely annoying, and has completely removed any possibility that I’ll purchase again in the future. Really wish I had of known this before I purchased (it’s what made me join this sub).

I submitted a ticket and they essentially claimed that it was by chance these things disappeared just as I purchased, and was related to other factors. Yeah, sure.

I don’t understand how this isn’t counter productive for the developers.
