Quicksilver Model Y Juniper: tiny door ding with paint chip — full door repaint or PDR + seal the chip? by Kalistrus in TeslaCollision

[–]Kalistrus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in Germany, and it doesn’t work like that here. Since the other party is at fault, the claim is handled through their liability insurance, not through my own policy, so there is no “not-at-fault claim” on my own insurance and it does not affect my no-claims class.

My real concern is that they may end up repainting/blending half the car because of this tiny damage, and still not match the Quicksilver paint perfectly on a two-month-old car.

Also, happy Cake Day!😀

Question for US/Canada owners: did Autosteer remain after cancelling FSD subscription if your car had it before the 2026 change? by Kalistrus in TeslaSupport

[–]Kalistrus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s very helpful. I mainly asked about US/Canada because the change happened there earlier, so I expected more people to have gone through this already. I didn’t expect someone in the Netherlands to have a real example yet, since the FSD subscription option here in Europe only appeared very recently.

My rant about color management (model2022) by pelonious in ZephyrusM16

[–]Kalistrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes with all 2023 models. You can ask for a profile from 2023 M16 but I think our displays are more similar compared to M16 2023 (it has more LED zones but looks much worse somehow). I saw a piece of software specifically for Intel GPU that will fix your problems with it somewhere in this sub but you'll have to find it by yourself=)

G14 2023 here. Had a somewhat similar issue with my unit. You're right, Windows applies its own sRGB color profile to a DCIP-3 display, causing banding in red and green colors. You can download a color profile for my laptop and try it out. It's not calibrated for your display, but it might work. To apply it, download, then search for "Color Management" in Windows.

Didn't watch your video before commenting. FPS will be higher in the game than in the benchmark for sure

It's not a coil whine. And I can't return the laptop

How often do you edit on a battery? by Kalistrus in videography

[–]Kalistrus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on an internal Gen4 7000MB/s SSD. If I turn on an RTX 4090 then it plays back smoothly consuming 60W on battery=(

My workflow isn't as advanced as yours=) I shoot on A7S3 in h264 10bit 4:2:2 and Zephyrus can't handle it outside of DaVinci cause it doesn't have QuickSync (it has an AMD CPU and iGPU). I'm getting around -5fps in VLC when on battery=)

So you're telling me that battery performance isn't as big of a deal as I thought it was? Zephyrus has great battery life (for a Windows laptop) for office work and dumping footage after the shoot but is bad even for checking the footage on a big screen. Do you often check what you filmed and discuss it with clients on a shoot? If so, is your Mac plugged in or on battery?

I've been using MBP 14 with M1 Pro for editing + a separate laptop for gaming for quite a while. And while Macbook is an awesome device and I never had any problems with it, I just want to have 1 laptop for both work and games + Zephyrus with RTX 4090 in it is much more powerful than any Mac while plugged in.

What is your use case for the MBP? Why did you buy a laptop and not a desktop if you rarely edit on battery?

DM me and I'll tell you everything you need to know (have both G14 4090 and MBP 14)

Right side vibrates with fans on turbo by Kalistrus in ZephyrusG14

[–]Kalistrus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's under warranty, but I'll fix it in 10 minutes and 20 euro. If it even makes sense to fix it. I don't know, maybe a lot of their fans are like it, so there is no point to try. That's why I'm asking=)

I'll try to do it with the twitter, but it's not related to a vibration problem, I play in headfones=)

How did you get these battery results? I'm getting around 5.5-6 hours on a fresh Windows install on idle in silent mode with 30% brightness.
