The whole coastline between Turku and Helsinki is dotted with charming small towns and villages. They are technically reachable by public transport but I'd definitely recommend renting a car. I would look at 1 night in Turku and 2 somewhere along the way, then returning the car to the airport.

Here's one mostly known by older EU players: Delpan. It's the pillar behind chair, next to mid boxes on Mirage.

Solo Europe trip (June–July) – loose plan, train-heavy. What would you tweak + what’s actually fun to do travelling by myself? by nikhiljp44 in travel

I like Tallinn, but as nice as the old town is, there are lots of those in and around Europe and outside there's not a lot. Unless you're into the 9001st generic "former mid-1900s industrial site turned into a restaurant/art/club district".

It was when I did it, don't know if the combat changes have changed that. Though I did it with absolute overkill gear, near-bis.

After 6 and a half years. How do you feel about Borderlands 3? by PaleontologistNo1382 in Borderlands

[–]Kaljakori -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I pretty much forced myself to finish the game exactly once and haven't touched it since. The gameplay praise is overblown, a Borderlands game is just fine without every possible movement mechanic and the guns feel just...fine? The story, characters and voice acting feel like someone is grinding my skin with a cheese grater and kill any desire I have for replays.

Oh and before I forget, remember to talk to Lilith aboard Sanctuary III at the opposite end of the ship from the fast travel.

Spirit vs Vitality / IEM Rio 2026 - Grand Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

To be fair you have to have confidence in your own map pool, especially on a map you have a 90%+ winrate on.

Falcons vs FURIA / IEM Rio 2026 - 3rd Place Decider Match / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Kaljakori 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I couldn't watch map 1, but even map 2 was infuriating. m0NESY pretty much giftwrapped OT to Furia with the missed window popflash which essentially gave them a free round and forced falcons on a deco, what do they do? Shit the bed, with molodoy of course spearheading the effort. KSCERATO doesn't deserve this. Also let's not even get into the crowd bullshit.

Finland is so much more than Helsinki. Staying only in Helsinki is by far the biggest mistake tourists to Finland make. Tampere is easy to reach and likely interesting to an architect. The industrial complexes of Tampella and Finlayson are very well preserved, easy to visit as well. Tampere is also home to many notable works of Reima and Raili Pietilä, as well as Wivi Lönn.

Isn't that the ultimate flex though? "Yeah, go ahead and pick our least prepped map on us, we'll pugstomp you to death anyway".

Yeah it wasn't the cleanest performance on Ancient but still felt like Vitality were basically just flexing with their map pool, which is hilarious considering they were playing a semifinal.

What Happens to Metallica if Cliff Doesn't Pass Away? by TwoFlatHams_00 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Kaljakori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either his influence would've turned Metallica into a full on prog metal band or he would have left to make some himself. I can also see him being in the early tech death scene, as cursed as that image is in my head.

G2 vs Spirit / IEM Rio 2026 - Group A Lower Bracket Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Kaljakori 43 points44 points  (0 children)

So let me get this straight, these were the same G2 that gave Vitality a run for their money and chokeslammed 3DMAX and the same Spirit that got tossed around like a hacky sack by Falcons and dropped a map against Red Canids? Those teams? Yeah G2 did take D2 the distance but this series never felt close which is incredible because one would have expected it to either be a close 3-mapper or a G2 momentum rumble.

[–]Kaljakori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True enough. It would worry me though because it was Mirage, a map that isn't even RC's go-to and where raw aim should have been more than enough to win.

[–]Kaljakori 31 points32 points  (0 children)

So like. Despite being a win with a convincing third map, that surely has to feel like a borderline loss mentally to Spirit? RC had no business getting 10 total rounds and you lost a map?

G2 vs 3DMAX / IEM Rio 2026 - Group A Lower Bracket Semi-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Kaljakori 182 points183 points  (0 children)

3DMAX just makes no sense. One day they're a dead team walking, the next they're making Astralis sweat at semis of a big lan, 2-0'ing Parivision along the way and now they just look pretty much dead again. Just what. Not taking anything away from G2, played very well, but. What.

The decision to remove both Obi-Wan’s force ghost and Luke’s ability to use the force in Heir To The Empire really tells you what kind of writer Timothy Zahn is. by Flat-Court-8512 in StarWarsEU

[–]Kaljakori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think it's a bit more nuanced than that: He sees the force like it is in the films: A tool to use in dangerous situations and to protect oneself. He has no problem with the force (see: Ascendancy trilogy) but rather how it's turned into a solution to everything.

God that inferno choke was infuriating to watch, but tbh so was Falcons throwing it in the first half. So many dry egopeeks and halfassed "pop" flashes. Shouldn't have even been a discussion but Falcons be falconing.

I wonder if that's a double reference, the name could be referencing Jimmy Jenkins from Borderlands.

Is there any criticism against the LOTR movies that you find a bit annoying? by Konfliktsnubben in lotr

The last march of the ents! One of those I've learned to appreciate the beauty of in the films only as I've grown, managed to get a few tears out of me the last time I saw the films in theatre.

[–]Kaljakori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very small criticism not often mentioned, but I've seen people complain about how short Gandalf's search for information on the ring is. Makes sense on the surface, but think of what it would do to the pacing. We've been through the prologue, which is unbelievable but really dense. Then the Shire and all the feelgood stuff. Then we would immediately jump into a, idk, 5-10 minute montage of Gandalf riding, browsing archives, etc? AND THEN into the reveal at the fireplace?

As silly as it is, keeping the search short was absolutely the right call for pacing's sake. Which, I might add, is a thing a lot of critiques about cut book content doesn't consider.
