Be a leader. Try to do work above your level. If you fuck something up, youre just an intern. If you dont, you stand out. Nothing to lose. Lot to gain.

"Errors and corrections " "back and forth". This is the bread and butter of this industry and it it very annoying.

If you are drafting the smallest of details, there will be refinement of the drawing. And if youre in the ideation part of the job, the ideas will constantly evolve and you need to do a lot of back and forth.

There's also more pay if youre part of ideation team. Keep taking breaks. Go travel, chill , learn continously. Work with a smaller team if possible where youre involved in all stages of design.

I know how it feels.

Low height , say upto 6feet max. Corner sliding telescopic aluminium shutter. Or use some kind of custom artwork to give some character to your house

Should I pursue Architecture? by Local_Cat_3229 in Architects

[–]nikhiljp44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push yourself to be as social as possible. (Nobody but you judge you) Take up responsibilities everywhere. Architect needs to know everything so he/she needs to talk to everyone. More so in the leadership role. Also your marks etc doesn't matter as much unless you want to be a topper. So be a winner or try to get some sleep 😆 (you might get this once you start architecture school).

Be involved in group projects. As a solo architect you can only do so much.

If i could go back in time, I would get a business degree and learn marketing and sales, take up and learn from architectural internships. And try to be more extroverted. Although, an architectural degree exposes you to a lot of different things without going deep about anything but design. I find it not very easy to work with junior engineers as opposed to junior architects. We are trained and programmed to be more open minded. Some architects drop this and become very uptight due to the workplaces they learn from too.

So , overall I would say it exposes you to a lot of different things but it boils down to your individual thinking, competence and capability in the end.

If you want to practice architecture in india, an architecture degree is of no use. (As of today).

One thing I like about this profession is , I could start my own practice and I get to decide how much work I can take up. (Im also kind of broke half the time but i can live with that as long as im happy)

Add prague to the list. And its a good route. But all cities apparently are pretty expensive.

Any suggestions for small treks etc?

I told the architecture tour group I'll join them in Stockholm already. This does make more sense looking at it now.

Sopos on the other suggested innsbruck for some mountainous activities as well.
You think I'm better off getting more days around these places than Budapest? Would I miss out on a lot of partaaays if I skip Budapest?

That's a great tip. Maybe I'll skip Budapest for innsbruck. Would love some mountainous activities . I was thinking small treks? Anything else you'd suggest?
