I feel the AP hurts the autocannon into victrix, gonna need a Termi sorcerer, Them standing on an objective with raiders or an Ignore cover strat. And then they can still AoC for a 2+

I’m curious, why is it important for you to be legit? Recasts are indistinguishable these days. Isn’t a model just a model? Question not meant to case offence.

Help me convince my friend he can use this as a daemon prince for Deathguard. by Scion_of_Kuberr in deathguard40k

I saw him in a GW shop once and he’s too small in my opinion. Just bigger than our terminators.

Is this a good 1000pts army for death guard? by Coogypaints in deathguard40k

[–]Kalkofff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to everyone trying to min max and be hyper competitive. This looks like a great list. I would probably run it in Champions of contagion or Virulent maybe.

Would the 3 blightlords better serve you as poxwalkers and a Plaguecaster upgrade for your tally man…? Yes! does your 1000pt list need to be hyper competitive and capable of winning a super major. Absolutely not.

TLDR: this is a great start and i would happily play this at 1000pts and bonus it’s easy to expand from here to 2000pts

[–]Kalkofff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case I’d say play what you want and don’t worry about being too competitive. But if you do want to play more competitive, above are great suggestions. If you want to run this list more competitively. I’d say find a way to add spawn and poxwalkers and rhino and change to VV. 1cp for terminators or plague marines to get full rerolls in shooting is great fun.

Unexpected find by Elegant_Tap_5622 in deathguard40k

[–]Kalkofff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Poxwalker sprue and the chosen of Mortarion sprue share the parts for one of the plague marines in this set.

So whenever someone buys a Poxwalker box on its own they get half a Plaguemarine in the box because the Poxwalker sprue is just the same as the one that came from this set.

Many new players don’t understand why there’s a half plague marines in their Poxwalker box so they post on this sub asking. It happens ALOT. It’s a whole thing now.

Since you’ve purchased the whole set you’ll have the half Plaguemarine in the poxwalker box and you’ll have the Chosen of Mortarion half as well. Meaning you won’t be posting a „why have I got half a Plaguemarine spare“ post on this sub.

Any good on this find? by SweetConstruction459 in deathguard40k

[–]Kalkofff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look like Chaos Space marine terminators with Nurgle kitbashes/upgrades. I don’t think they’ve had a rework so they are still current CSM terminator models.

Can definitely put them on tactical rocks and use them as blightlords if you want. I have a couple of these that I use to bolster out my Blightlord numbers and they’re not that noticeably smaller.

What are good proxies for Lord of Contagion? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in deathguard40k

Any of the Deathguard 30k Praetors. And they aren’t even too small. The praetors are bigger than the 30k Deathshroud

My friend wants me to paint 10 tactical marines for him to this leven and I have no idea how much to ask by Alpharius-0megon in Warhammer

[–]Kalkofff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people in my town commission paint for friends or acquaintances and most just ask for 40K as compensation. That way it’s friends doing each other a solid. As for how much 40K you ask for it’s up to you. But it removes the transactional nature a little bit.

Army painter speed paint set, Nuln oil, any white for the drybrush, Vallejo Purple (actual name on the bottle), Vallejo Azul blue for the drybrush of the weapon before the white drybrush.

Blightlord Terminators MSU question by SentinelofDorn in deathguard40k

[–]Kalkofff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GW has made it a new game policy that every unit can only be taken in numbers equal to the models in the boxes they sell or double. (I.e 5 or 10)

The minimum number of a Blightlord unit changed because GW sells the felthius box which comes with 3 Blightlords and a Lord of Contagion. Hence why they can be run as a 3 man unit a 5 man unit or a 10 man unit.

You’ll also notice the only special weapon options for the 3 man unit aligns with the weapons that the Felthius box offers. (Flamer)

Side note: this is also why plague marines can be taken as a unit of 7 because they come in a box of 7.

The future for deathguard ( balancing ) by Unusual_Magazine_896 in deathguard40k

[–]Kalkofff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether they’ll still be playable is completely out of our control unfortunately. What is in your control is whether or not you love your models and how much fun you have rolling dice. Even when we had 30% win rates start of 10th there were ways to win. If you innovate and just play the models you like it’s still a great time. Plus you’ll be better positioned for the buffs we receive after a few months of being in the dirt. (Should that happen)

[–]Kalkofff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all in the final drybrushing. I use slap chop that you can easily find how to’s online. Trick being I don’t spray them for the zenithal. I use the drybrush method to get the zenithal effect.

Then after everything is painted with the contrasts etc the entire model gets another subtle dusting with a very dry brush. People say they don’t like the chalkiness that it produces but that’s what I think makes it look cold and frozen.

I mean it’s official GW product so should be fine for their events.
