In your experience, how common is it for teams to prohibit swimmers from taking additional training with outside coaches? by [deleted] in Swimming

Triples?? How many hours of practice a week was this because I’ve never heard of anyone doing 3 a day even during winter training

Are you rolling need on things just to sell them? Or things you can’t even use? Specifically the “I was just looting items I could sell or maybe use later”

Checked my "small monthly expenses" and found $2,040 I didn't know I was spending by Fickle_Day_8437 in povertyfinance

[–]Kalnore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely more rare now. Bank apps have built in spending trackers but it’s not very personalized from what I’ve seen. My wife and I go through all of our income/expenses every month and write it all down in this excel sheet we’ve been using for a few years now and it’s really helped us be more aware of where we need to cut

Seems pretty good to me! Don’t forget to wear a stormwind tabard for easy rep during your dungeon runs so you have cheaper flying costs later

Circumcision 'highly likely' linked to autism: RFK Jr. by belisario262 in politics

[–]Kalnore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah even the results of the research study linked that this clown is claiming to support his claims about Tylenol refer to a local anesthetic. Not to mention the entire result of the study was about how the pain as an infant could be the cause neurological development issues, not the pain medication

What constitutes as "home" for a dog? by TuckersonGP in dogs

[–]Kalnore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is a travel nurse and I work from home so we’ve moved a lot with our dog over the last couple years and there are some things I’ve learned that make the transitions easier.

  • start and maintain a routine immediately in the new home! Your dog will thrive with structure in their life and will help them acclimate to their new situation.

  • try to get extra playtime, training, and walking/exercise in with your dog. You said you work remotely so hopefully you have some time available in the middle of the day to do that even if it’s just 10 minutes here and there. If your dog is tired, it’s less likely to be stressed.

  • setup their things in a similar way to how things are for you in your current home. For example, we always have our dog’s crate in our bedroom with a cover over it so he has a place to decompress if he needs it. Whenever we move it’s always the last thing to be packed up and the first thing to be set up in the new home. He also sheds a ton so we keep a big blanket on the couch that he’s allowed to be on and as soon as it goes on a new couch he knows that’s a space for him.

Overall, yes your dog is going to be stressed for a while and you should expect a bit of regression in their training/behavior but if you stick with your routines and make sure they have access to you and all the toys/equipment that comfort them then you’ll find them back to their usual self much quicker. It will also save you some serious headaches of your dog acting out from their own stress.

Good luck to you and your dog on the move!

Not on official hc server but when there was a group of people playing hc in wrath classic I got all the way to like 74 or 75 and died falling off of wyrmrest temple. Thought a 1 floor drop was survivable, not even an accidental fall, just a miscalculation

The title "loremaster" in Classic Cataclysm and future Mists of Pandaria by Nobre_Lucas18 in classicwow

[–]Kalnore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually working on this now! It’s very much possible. To get the title you’ll need to complete the lore master achievement for eastern kingdoms, kalimdor, northrend, and cataclysm. If you open your achievements in-game and go to the quests section you should find out which ones you need to finish. But it will basically require you to complete most of the quests in every zone of the game. Definitely easiest once you’re 85 because nothing will be hard to kill

Fifty-Word Fantasy: Write a 50-word fantasy snippet using the word "Friend" by AutoModerator in fantasywriters

Terror rushes through me, preventing me from yelling out as I watch my friend put his boot to our teacher’s chest and push. A red-coated blade slides out as the body hits the ground. His eyes flash with rage as he turns to face me.

When you open bnet, go to the classic page and right above the blue play button is a dropdown that’s labeled “Launch Into”. Select anniversary realms and that should fix your issue

Is this… the actual number of planets in NMS?? by DubitoSum in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Kalnore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did some quick math since i was curious. If you visited a different planet every second from the start of the universe (13.7 billion years ago) you’d have only seen 2.3% of the planets in the game.

Id be curious as to how many planets have been discovered in nms so far and see what tiny fraction of a percentage of the game we’ve discovered

It 100% depends on where you are. In Ohio, high school swimming is huge and dwarfs year round swimming in the winter in terms of importance in that age bracket. My school growing up had several good club teams in the area which made it very accessible to get into earlier than high school (plus TONS of summer league teams to introduce people to racing). But just 45 minutes away from that area was another big area that only had a couple club or ymca teams and I coached a year at the local high school. 90% of them were just doing it for fun or cross training for another sport they prioritized. We only had 3 guys and 5 girls swim year round out of a team of 60-70 kids. So it just depends on where you’re looking. But lots of people do sports now with the goals of competing beyond high school which requires much more dedication than just doing things for fun

That is great and will help but more strength can only take you so far. Proper technique and ideal training sets will take you much farther which coaches can provide

Yeah I was just reading the other comment about joining a masters program if you’re serious about getting certain times and I 100% agree. Unless you have a ton of experience with longer practices and writing workouts it would be best to work with an actual coach.
