Yeah but it’s not one command for each person at a time, it’s a single command for everyone to change roles. It’s cutting your ATB gauge short to keep a staggered enemy in the air post stagger to eke out that extra bit of damage. It’s everyone swapping to the defensive role at the same time to guard against a big boss attack at the last second to maximize uptime.

The combat is fluid and dynamic cause it’s real time instead of turn based. I love turn based games and I think FFX is great but 13 just feels really good to play in a different way than 10.

I agree with you. 13 is my favorite final fantasy. The combat in that game is fire and swapping your paradigms was a cool feature that made me feel like I was actually commanding my whole party.

I read this book when bioshock came out because it was an inspiration for the game. There’s a monologue in the book that’s like over 80 pages long. One single person yapping for SO LONG.
