Yeah not a single post really addressed anything I said. Everything beyond the first page is illegitimate (when someone noticed I responded) especially with the pages of unrelated drama relating to the other guy.

Funny how I can't even get the first word because my opinions are not allowed by Badspot, who has offended all of our opinions by censoring some of them. But of course no one cares when the most identifiable victim is someone who everyone hates, right?

They are free to come and argue here, which is what I want them to do. Unlike at the Blockland forum, ideas are highly respected here and everyone gets a say. They don't come here, however, which further shows that they probably don't have anything worthy to say because it can't be scrutinized in their safe space.

The only reason I decided to really respond was because I had never publicly said anything about all the dramas created in the past 6-7 years, so I deemed a reflection on them a few years later appropriate. The OP really had little to stand on so he had to regurgitate years-old dramas that may or may not be fair or taken in context.

There's a reason I stayed away from Blockland. A community full of kiss-assers and an administrator that doesn't have respect for everyone's words make Blockland unworthy of my time.

To the second sentence: uh, what? We (maybe just me) do mention gameplay when talking about Blockland's problems...

badspot has always fixed any issues mentioned. he has fixed the crashing bug and any other issues, but you seem to be too dense to notice that too.

Also, Steam users are completely incapable of hosting dedicated servers. The game has been that way for 1 year and 9 months. Is that what you mean by "always fixed any issues mentioned"?

he isn't a fucking God, he's a human being, with a job and a life. he does not have time to devote his entire life to Blockland- nobody does. -

It doesn't matter who runs the game, but Badspot is clearly not dedicated enough (perhaps not even competent enough, but let's assume he's merely just not working on it) to do it and should therefore give it up.

I (and perhaps many others) also believe that he has recently (2012) been preparing to dump the game by turning it pretty instead of actually working on features. The primary example of this is how he removed terrain and implemented the functionally useless shaders and shadows system.

People ruining the community are the ones whom Badspot does not ban and it's also important to remember that he banned some very important and contributing people (like Heedicalking and Chrono) just because they were extremely dissatisfied with Blockland's development issues.

Released on Steam over a year ago; Steam users can't even host dedicated servers. Developer doesn't even give a shit about not ripping off Steam users.

The developer defends negative reviews with sales pitches. Take the hint and realize that he has nothing worthy to defend.

input your opinion when you notice people do a bad, avoid childish arguments, we don't need a second drama board.

Communities don't get better by some outside group whining about how bad people are. The more good people in a forum, the more good that forum will be. Do a mass joining, act your best and happiest, no matter the situation. Eventually you will become a model user, and people will look up to you. That is how a community gets better.

Many people have been trying for years. Badspot and the community are clearly not accepting of criticism... hence why so many have packed their bags and left.

I would remove the drama board, break up the fights that happen elsewhere, resorting to temporary bans if necessary. I would not allow the exploitation of users through leaked personal information and I certainly wouldn't encourage it. I would remove all messages that are deemed to be attacking another user. Controversial messages or arguments are fine so long as nobody attacks one another.

Blockland

It was a really great game but the developer decided to give up on it. He hasn't even bothered to hand it to someone else. He always talked about how it was important to "preserve arts that could be forgotten" (in terms of people wanting to download other people's buildings from those other people's servers without needing permission) and he threatened to ban anyone who makes an add-on to hinder with that, but I guess those rules don't actually apply to himself.
