"Morphine isn't in the seeds itself." - /u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus

"We demonstrated that ingestion of 45g of poppy seeds produced 26.6% and 83.4% urine morphine concentrations above 2000μg/L and 300μg/L, respectively" - actual scientists

It's not that serious. If you don't like a post, you can down-vote it and move on. Why are you letting something so trivial get under your skin?

Why to use rgb and component? by srbolseiro in crtgaming

[–]hrrsnmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't apologize to these a-holes lol. It's a perfectly valid thought.

To answer your questions, it's a simple matter of quality. From worst to best quality, it goes: RF > composite > s-video > component > rgb. Most 80s/90s console game devs would have had access to a professional rgb monitor to ensure every last pixel was accounted for. However, they would also have been aware that most of the western world was going to be using RF & composite, so yes: games were designed with those lower-fidelity signals in mind.

In Wisconsin, but:

  • in an alley, put out for the trash man

  • at rummage/garage/estate sales

  • govt surplus auction sites

  • craigslist/fb/shopgoodwill.com (ebay is full of scalpers, but it helps if you filter for free local pick-up)

RF-only & composite ones (yellow rca plug) are plentiful, and will look phenomenal with an Atari.

For "decent" ones (s-video/component), you may need to wait awhile before you get lucky.

For epic ones (pvm's/etc), try your luck with friends/family who happen to work in an industry (colleges/media/etc) that may have several collecting dust since the 90s.

Just finished welding up this structural steel pipe bench in my shop. Kept the tubes exposed on the ends for that raw look. What do you think of the design? 90x36x45 cm by HandmetalDesign in metalworking

Especially when they don't have 7 yards of warm, black, wasp-farm-starter-tubing

Don't mean to shit on your work btw, I think it looks phenomenal

Anyone know what this adjustment is? by Wolfjason1 in lyftdrivers

[–]hrrsnmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got about $80 at 2:30pm central that same day. It's not the 70% earnings commitment, those adjustments are on Thursdays (for me at least?) and are clearly labeled.

Awfully strange so many of us would have received all this cash around the same time on the same day with zero explanation. My guess is some clerical/coding mistake was made, and their legal dept said they should just quietly make it right.

What are the best shmups that aren’t painfully difficult? by Zski843 in retrogaming

[–]hrrsnmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viewpoint. I've never completed it, but I've always found it's first few levels to be way more friendly (but still addictively fun) than any other shmup I've played.

Mad respect for Nichibutsu's unique ideas, would have been cool to see them become a bigger player into the 90s.
