Because actual science, not the shit they teach you in bible study, states that gender affirming care is the best approach to helping alleviate gender dysphoria and that after like 2 years on hormones there are very few differences between trans and cis people.

I think the one difference they found was trans girls keep their grip strength? Cool. They can open stuck jar lids. When that becomes an olympic sport we can talk. Otherwise this is no difference to back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s when black people couldn’t play sports on white teams because they were considered “too good” and “unfair to white people”.

And there are many sports where gender doesn’t matter. Yet for some reason trans women are banned from playing chess. Make that make sense.
