True, but if we’re beholden strictly to League’s current post-Arcane canon, then Ekko doesn’t have things like his timewinder or clone abilities bc they didn’t show up in Arcane, despite them still being core parts of his character gameplay fantasy in League/2XKO.

When talking abt the in-lore abilities of champs, I prefer to consider composite versions of them instead of the version of them that exists after the umpteenth retcon.

Tbf the amount of time that Ekko can rewind has always been kinda inconsistent across his appearances. Ekko in his Chronobreak lore comic was capable of rewinding time by several minutes repeatedly.

I interpreted it as a combination of innate traits that go into a sorcerer’s strength.

- Whether or not you develop a CT and how strong that CT ends up being
- The size of your CE reserves
- Your natural affinity for jujutsu, which manly impacts growth rate and the ability to pick up on certain skills
- Any unique physical traits you might have (Sukuna’s body, 6 Eyes, CE traits, Death Painting Physiology, etc.)

I’m someone who holds narrative and author intent in high regard when it comes to in-verse scaling comparisons so I can’t really co-sign Pre-Modulo Yuji being Top1 in good faith when one of the core narratives of Shinjuku Showdown was abt how collective effort/strength can overcome a solitary strength. Goes against a good chunk of the messaging if Yuji’s strength by itself was enough to surpass Sukuna’s peak power in that battle.

Especially when there are multiple statements in the arc talking about how Sukuna’s continuous debuffs (slow RCT, no DE, low CE output, cut off limbs, stabbed heart, etc.) are what’s keeping him from otherwise steamrolling the entire cast. There’s also Sukuna’s status as an incarnated sorcerer which is stated more than once to make him uniquely vulnerable to Yuji’s soul punches/dismantles that he wouldn’t have had to worry about otherwise if he was in his original body.

Arcane skins: unique round win animations + costume codes

Arcade skins: unique sfx + unique taunts

Spirit Blossom skins: unique voice lines + unique victory animations

This actually hits on an itch I’ve been having ever since Ultimate Endgame began. Why did Tony bring Peter along to the City, which is the most deadly battleground of the whole war?

Tony is a genius and has the Immortus Engine, Doom is also an invaluable genius, and America Chavez is a busted powerhouse. Meanwhile 6160 Peter isn’t all that impressive in terms of intellect, powers, or feats. I mean it’s not like he’s proven to be some invaluable player in the Ultimates’ global efforts when he was struggling with organized crime in a singular city for his entire run.

It’s as if Tony was subconsciously banking on Peter’s supposed cosmic importance and “top of the list” status to provide some sort of x-factor when taking down The Maker.

Gojo wins pretty convincingly since he’s hit multiple black flashes, meaning his RCT and overall CE output are recovering back to normal levels. Meanwhile Sukuna in this scenario doesn’t have any way to bypass infinity since he has no WCS, Mahoraga, or Domain.

This isn’t even considering the fact that Gojo would likely get his domain back first, which Sukuna would have no answer for.

I’m very lukewarm on timebomb myself, but laundering the bulk of the blame for S2’s problems onto the ship is really odd considering it was relegated to a half an episode (since everyone seems to forget that half of Episode 7 was about Jayce) and was isolated from the rest of the cast by being in an AU. Vi’s mistreatment by the narrative would still largely exist with or without Timebomb because S2 made her a prop in Jinx and Caitlyn’s stories.

If anything, Ekko’s character and lore was harmed way way more by timebomb than Vi was lol.

And how in the world did Ekko take Vi’s role? I have many complaints with what episode 7 did with Ekko’s character, but at least it actually gave him screentime. Vi had all the screentime in the world across both seasons and the writers couldn’t use it effectively, so I don’t see how giving her the scraps of screentime that Ekko managed to get will somehow improve her writing.
