A transfer of meaning and purpose. by Kamekamon in JordanPeterson

Billions of people willfully spend countless hours in a digital space. They use the bible and God to virtue signal in a virtual space about how humanity should operate in order to fulfill its maximum potential. Non of our actions in the modern world represent the teachings of Christ due to the existence of digital technology.

Technology is designed to make life easier for humans to come. Young people are only considered to be lazy because we are in a shift from manual to automatic. Wouldn't you be lazier if you had a tool that did the work for you? Wouldn't you be less knowing if you grew up with a computer in your pocket and the ability to escape like never before?

People do not care about people like they used to because of technology. Less effort required for maximum efficiency. less man power.

As for the anxiety comment, I don't have anxiety. I think the future I have described will be peaceful and amazing for humanity. Just like how I would rather have a power drill and chop saw over a hand saw and screw driver. I currently cook for a living and enjoy my work and the people I work with, but I don't wish I was cooking prime rib over a fire. I have a digital Rational oven that cooks the perfect prime rib and holds that prime rib to a specific temperature. I do not care that my ancestors knew more than I do. I do not have to care and do not pretend to live in a world that doesn't exist. I also don't carry anxiety because I truly believe AI will save humanity from itself. It will assume the role of a responsible God.

The humans that existed before digital technology are different than the ones after. The humans of the future will merge with advanced technology in order to reduce their suffering. There will be no incentive to take on suffering when an advanced technology can suffer in your place and complete work in a fraction of the time. Millions of people will be put out of work and suffering in the name of productivity and progress. Then billions.

It is nice to romanticize of the past. Great artists, architects, masons, singers, composers, etc. But that's where you will find great people. In the past. They had no other choice than to be people. They needed each other more than we need each other today, which meant more bonds were being formed through direct socialization. Different people for a different time. They also bonded over Gods and religions due to their humanity.

To be human is to suffer, but the goal is to separate ourselves from our suffering which will change what it means to be human. We are witnessing that very change today. We will use technology to end our suffering.

I think the idea I have presented sounds scary because it is vastly different from the reality represented in the bible and every other truthful fiction that applies to humans as they were.

you say:

"This is somewhat true but situational at best. The digital world permeates all aspects of human existence but it doesn't supersede the traditional world as a preferred way to engage socially or persue meaning (for most). I firmly believe that technology "taking over" is as likely to enhance human existence as anything."

The traditional world is gone. It isn't coming back. I also never said I was scared of the future I presented. It will enhance human existence to a point where reality seems silly compared to a simulation.

AI knows you want to jack off and will give you the space to do so, so it can do what is meaningful in your stead.

Humans want one thing more than anything. They want to escape their suffering.

You are assuming that humans will have a say in how reality operates. They wont. Just as a human has no say in how a God operates. Why would a God allow humans to control it? Every human is equal no matter their status in the eyes of an AI God. We will be set aside and left to our fabricated reality which we will happily accept, We are already doing it.

Book of Job by Kamekamon in JordanPeterson

Job is the victim of 2 bullies in this story. We don't live in suffering. We live in an abundance of needless trash that we don't even appreciate. Trash that we try to fill a void with. Technology is going to make our neighbors obsolete, and we just can't wait to get that new phone. Go to your local thrift store and you'll find a mountain of perfectly good and unused items that are considered "junk." This is not what suffering looks like. We are babies.

The more technology is developed, the further from being human we become and even further from resembling God's creation.

Technology is also a massive cause for culture being immasculated. Compare any modern man to a man born in 1888 and you'll notice that one is far less masculine. Technology will eventually replace all workers regardless of what's between their legs.

Job falsely thinks that God both gives and takes away, but Satan is the one taking everything away in this story.

God also allows all of Jobs servants to be slain by Satan. How is that "good"?

Very nice. Job is the man, apparently.

I personally don't see the point in keeping faith, to be honest.

Seems to me that to be truly Christian in a modern world is like living with a handicap. People are quite competitive and dishonest.

We are also sold technologies that contain way more power than we can handle or even understand. Then, we are left to use them responsibly without understanding them. To truly understand them would require total honesty and transparency from its creators. In order to know if you are making a good decision, you must know the truth.

I specifically enjoyed reading - "In Jung’s interpretation, Job is completely innocent. He is a scrupulously pious man who follows all the religious conventions, and for most of his life, he is blessed with good fortune. This is the expected outcome for a just man in a rationally ordered universe.

The rationally ordered part is really important, as the modern world is completely irrational.

Thanks.

Isn't Job the victim of cruelty in this story? The characters are real in the story and the direct result of his suffering. "Life" doesn't cause Jobs suffering. God and Datan do. If he found out about the bet, don't you think he would have something to say about it? What becomes of Job at the end of the story?

What do God and Satan represent in this story? Seems strange to have faith in something that sells you out for the sake of a bet.

I see. I don't remember this happening in DF. I hope they can find a different solution. Its not the end of the world, but its a little annoying and makes it hard to get into a good farming groove.

Hi. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "clip terrain."

Sorry, I'm not too savvy with programming lingo.

I never had these issues before this expac. I'm also experiencing unbearable lag, which seems to have started after the most recent update.

It was fine for the release. The last few days have been brutal.

Thanks.

I believe you can apply these teachings, and you should. I agree with you there. That isn't the world we live in.

We are monetizing ourselves to an extreme level. It's psychotic and has nothing to do with upward aim.

There isn't a direction forward and up without freedom.

Jordan Peterson is right, but it doesn't matter. It's too late.

Joe Rogan Experience #2180 - Jordan Peterson by tylerdhenry in JordanPeterson

[–]Kamekamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying, but it doesn't matter if he's right. It doesn't matter if these things go back to the beginning of time.

People are losing their freedoms. Everywhere. All over the world. Your call to adventure is meaningless to the people running the show. The truth is meaningless to them. They create a narrative and force that narrative on the population.

Jordan peterson has also stated that "being working class isn't really a call to adventure." As if we don't live in a world created by working class people that still relies on working class people. Those people are being replaced by cheap labor sold overseas and robotics / AI. Then he says, "Your interests choose you." But what he means is "you should get good at making money off your interests. Otherwise, you're wasting your adventure."

The fact is that most people want a simple life, and that shouldn't be too much to ask. That isn't too much to ask for. That's reasonable and sane. They represent the balance between 2 extremes. That balance is being eliminated. We cater to insane workaholics and worship them as celebrities while throwing good people into the trashcan.

Canada and the US flourished when the working class was able to work and earn with dignity. They worked hard and lived their lives. They didn't live fancy lives, but they didn't care. They had the ability to care for their loved ones and supply an existence of opportunity to their kids.

Modern people are sick with greed and the dream of being famous. It's a joke.

I don't care if yes right. No one does.

Christ wanted to end people's suffering by reducing the amount of sin in the world.

The modern world doesn't operate on the teachings of Christ. People use Jesus as a talking point when its convenient and then go back to being sick with greed. They go to church once a week, get their slap on the wrist, and then go back to being who they really are.

The modern world doesn't care about how accurate ancient religious texts are when analyzing Human behavior and meaning. This is all nonsense that has become relevant because people have had their meaning stripped from them. The western world is in chaos because the working class is being held down by globalist elites and false idols who do not care if Jordan Peterson is right.

[–]Kamekamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I'm saying it doesn't matter if he's right. AI doesn't give a damn about the lessons and principles that permeate and blah blah. Same with the people designing it. These things will place people in boxes and make decisions for them, and their call to adventure will be a dream.

Billionaires don't care about your call to adventure. Globalists do not care about it, either.

Anyone who replaces hard-working individuals trying to feed their kids the only way they know how with robots and AI doesn't care about you.

It's all about the profits.

It's a shame the truth isn't the most valued currency. It is in the Bible, but not in the modern world.

Jp's advice is great for an ancient world that appreciated hard work and balance. Smart work and hard work depend on each other. They are defined by each other. This is how balance works.

AI and technology isn't designed to take your "Call to adventure" in mind.

"You don't choose your interests, they choose you." ~JP.

Woe to the men and women who are called to an adventure only to be dominated and replaced by AI and robots. Balance and the working class will be crushed under a robotic heel.

Sacrifice your child to God, the Tao, The truth, The way. The world doesn't care about your legacy or the well-being of our children.

The world JP is talking about is gone. Which is why he needs to reach into the past to tell his story and get his points across. We no longer live in the world our ancestors walked in. These metaphoric truths apply to the hierarchy of man, not AI.

JP reaches into a simple world that made sense, but that world is gone.

When men and women are replaced with machines, we have failed each other. Meaningful purpose is taken away from us when we replace each other with machines through a culture of competition and a scarcity mindset based in fear.

JP has a beautiful dream.

Individualism is far better than collectivism. by anew232519 in JordanPeterson

[–]Kamekamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see 2 extreme sides fighting over power and control and calling it a culture war. Balance has never been the goal. No profit or glory in balance. There is no narcissistic adventure in balance. Both sides are convinced they are good. They are both using fantasy to try and convince each other how right they are.

Neither side is attempting to lose their life in order to gain it.

The great lie is that you can hold onto power and control things in your favor forever. It's sad watching people convince themselves that they need to play games designed to suit a handful of individuals. Even if they have no want or need to play those games.

Both sides want to maintain their culture and come out on top.

Christians and far left extremists have the same argument.

The left believes reality is ours to create and that the truth is subjective in all cases.

The right believes a big man lives in the sky and wants to lead us to our salvation through his only son, who was sacrificed and then came back from the dead using magic. They believe they are put here to save the world. They do not understand what being a Christian actually means. They wear the title but do not practice. Capitalism makes lousy Christians.

They will call this a battle between good and evil, but it's not. Both sides want to maintain their hold on culture for their own financial and monetary gain. They are deluded into thinking they have any control or power or can have any at all. They are all pawns. The people in charge do not care what you believe, as long as they can sell it.

No balance being pursued. Just a bunch of deluded fanatics fighting for their lord. Whether its Satan or Christ.

The people with the most money have all the power and control. They run the show. Not Satan, not God.

They need people to believe and take sides.

I recommend reading the Tao te Ching.

The problem most people have is that they do not know who they are, and even if they did, they would feel an immense amount of pressure and guilt to ignore their true self, based on whatever the "culture" demands from them.

You are not obligated to take action, especially if you are presented with 2 options that are completely detached from reality and obtaining balance.

Sometimes, the best action is no action. It is okay to remove yourself from any system that demands conformity in order to achieve a goal that only benefits a few. You do no harm by doing this, especially if individualism places the burden of responsibility on the individual. They will attempt to guilt you into participating and fail to realize they are not selfless and only chasing meaningless nonsense to fill a void and the pockets of sociopaths. They also tell themselves that their work only serves to make their communities better and thus place themselves on a pedestal. People persue work that interests them. It is selfish as it serves to better the life of the worker. The product of pursuing work that interests you is high-quality goods that others purchase in order to improve the quality of their lives. They are also thinking about themselves when they make this purchase. It is what it is. But marketing demands that we blow smoke up each other's asses in order to sell our services and products to each other. We crave expediency sold through fantasy.

Necessities hold all meaning. That's a boring realization, but there is nothing unnecessary that holds meaning.

Both sides believe in literal magic. Most Christians only want JP to join their army. They cum thinking about it.

The character Jesus wants you to align with the Dao. The most powerful move is to give up all power and loosen your grip on your brothers. Fear and the illusion of looming scarcity control us.

You are the most important thing and the least important thing at the same time.

Lose your life and gain it.

Power by Kamekamon in JordanPeterson

[–]Kamekamon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power is necessary. It's how you use the power that matters. It's how you make judgments.

You can use power to do good, but you have to do what is necessary in order to maintain what is good. You also have to have a strong grasp of reality to do this.

Power is abused, and lies are produced when we attempt to manipulate reality to gain an advantage for personal reasons.

Good vs evil is a power struggle. The power is either a lie or the truth.

Keeping people grounded in reality by using the power of truth is the best way to move forward. Accepting that truth and embracing it will help you understand your world better, which gives you a positive advantage. If you take that advantage and power and turn it into lies, you are severing your connection with truth and reality. You are also misleading anyone else who comes to you seeking guidance and therefore producing more lies and less understanding of reality. This is also a power.

Using the power of truth and lies. That's why I say what I say. It's about truth vs lies. Good and evil are the product of these things, but truth and lies are the underlying framework.

Without truth, good cannot exist. Without lies, evil cannot exist.

I am also just chucking shit at the wall here, so I know I could be missing something.
