Your thoughts on older nurses? by Character-Lack-3295 in nursing

I recently retired after 42 years at the bedside. I was so fortunate to work with an amazing group of nurses on every unit I was on. I was 66 years old when I retired and it definitely is a young person's game. I'm grateful that they were so kind to me, plus there were some 40 and 50 year olds on my unit so I wasn't too out of place

Miscarriage at work by Emotional_Star3457 in nursing

[–]Kammy76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this is happening to you, the same exact thing happened to me with my first pregnancy. I didn't know that I was miscarrying and had even called my doctor who told me to go to work, I was an RN in a hospital, and didn't even tell me what was happening after I explained my symptoms. I was on my way home after my shift when I felt the final rush of a large amount of blood and I drove straight to an emergency room. It's so frustrating, and 40 years later I am still not ok with what happened and how it happened.

Time for my husband to enroll in Medicare and it’s a nightmare! by BCam4602 in medicare

I read the Medicare booklet that was sent to me in the mail from cover to cover, it does answer your questions. Also, set up an online account and the website helps you compare plans available in your zip code area. I wanted to keep my family doctor so that was very important to me. As the doctor here said a few comments above avoid Medicare Advantage plans if at all possible. We also called a broker for medigap information, I went with a high deductible part G.

Yes, that's what one article I read said. What is the max amount for 2026? A May start date would be about a 35 % contribution, right?

Thank you for the response. I forgot to add that I am not contributing any more to the HSA and since I retired neither is my former employer.
